    easy rider,

I think, based on the best new polls that are available, that the chances of the DIMocRATS taking over either one or both houses of Congress is between ZERO & MINUS 10.

Problem is, the Dems delaying tactics are working. New polls show 50% against Kavanaugh confirmation. Becoming a lose/lose situation. If they push him through, they will likely pay for it in the midterms. If they don't push him through and don't keep the senate in the midterms, no more Trump nominees will be confirmed, and they'll likely try to wait Trump out.

So apparently the names of all Ford said were in attendance that night, are known. In addition to BK, there was Judge, and Smyth. All three have denied the event existed. BUT WAIT! The final person is a FRIEND of Ford, and is female. And here is her answer:

CNN has learned that the committee has reached out to a longtime friend of Ford named Leland Ingham Keyser.
"I understand that you have been identified as an individual who was in attendance at a party that occurred circa 1982 described in a recent Washington Post article," a committee staffer wrote Keyser earlier this week.
On Saturday night, her lawyer, Howard Walsh, released a statement to CNN and the Senate Judiciary Committee.
"Simply put," Walsh said, "Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, or without, Dr. Ford."

So the best move at this point is the to let her speak and discredit herself.

How much anyone willing to bet she declines again. Or asks for another postponement.

    from an idjit coffeeholic
This is a woman who is a democrat, democrat donor, has marched in protests against Trump and who is being taught every delaying tactic by those with experience.

    Ummmm, no bet.

Oh I agree completely, but I think they may have waited too long at this point. Every pundit and media outlet is saying, "Giver her the time she needs!" and people are starting to believe it. Personally, I think they should have just issued a subpoena from the get go. Of course, now you've got Napolitono saying there could still be a criminal investigation since MD has no SoL on felony sexual assault. And after reading the MD statutes, felony and misdemeanor assault are basically the same thing. So I don't see this ending anytime soon.

I blame Grassley; he has shown himself to be politically incompetent as chairman of the Judiciary committee. Feinstein is an aggressive, highly venomous snake (always has been, always will be). To me, it was recognizable by the very civil facade she put on during the hearing - very out of character for her. She had something up her sleeve. It was abundantly obvious to the most casual observer.

Before the next Trump SCOTUS nominee comes up, the GOP needs to replace Grassley as chairman. Someone much more politically astute needs to run that committee.

It's a travesty of justice when the highest courts in the nation allow litigants to dictate terms of the court. I can't seem to remember a time I was told to show up to court on my own terms.

Both the Senate and the House judiciary committees have been setting a dangerous precedence by letting the people summoned to delay and dictate terms.

Just to put things in proper‘historical perspective’, the Senate has always been tasked with the duty to “advise and consent” with the president since the earliest days of our republic. However, for the first two-thirds of our existence, this duty was handled by the full senate (with straight up or down votes). It’s only been since the twentieth century that the creation of “subcommittees” have taken on a role to play in this ‘advising and consenting’. And even for a shorter time, much more recently, where “hearings” were held that included questioning of potential nominees.

So don’t be misled into thinking that our current experience has some long, long historical “tried and true” tradition behind it. It doesn’t.

Precedence doesn't have to be based on tradition, yet the roll of the committees or subcommittees does have some significance to tradition. Congress, like a business, can and has lost faith of the people (customers), and if they keep losing that faith, like a business, it will fail.

Also a huge mistake not to have Republican Female on SJC.

This pretty much sums up how partisan it is:

The fourth person, Leland Ingham Keyser, told the committee that she did not recall the party Ford described. CNN reported on the outreach to Keyser and her lawyer's response on Saturday. Keyser told The Washington Post that although she did not recall the party, she believed Ford, whom she described as a friend.

Yes, the woman does not recall the party, says she has never met BK, but believes Ford who said she was at the party with BK.

Well with Ford's accusations going down in flames, new accusations are being tee'd up.

First is A Yale student who claims BK exposed himself to her, again, no dates or details.

And Stormy Daniels lawyer claims to have a client with relevant info too.

The Dems are pulling out all the stops to stop BK.
