I sent in my paperwork in June for two cans. The wait is killing me, especially with hunting season coming up. Two of my hunting buddies are FFL07/SOT holders and literally purchase suppressors online and have them shipped instantly... I will just have to keep waiting until The Crown is pleased and sends me my stamp of approval.

That’s one of the reasons I won’t ever buy an NFA item as long as the wait is months long to get the “permission slip”
I would drive myself crazy waiting on it.

Ah...so you could be waiting a long time.

Bite the bullet, start the paperwork and find a hobby to get your mind off of it. Then one day you will get the phone call that the stamp is in and it will be like Christmas.

I’ve been wanting a 22LR can for awhile. I’ve got threaded rifles and pistols for one.
I saw a few nice ones for $300 plus the tax stamp. I just want one that I can open and spray with carb cleaner, brush it off and put it back together

Me too. Forms away at the start of August. 8-10 more months to go. :banghead:

I remember during W's first term when they just moved NFA Branch to West Virginia. Form 4s took 30 days. When E-file Form 1s first came online those were 30 days too.

My worst wait evar was a purchase from an elderly individual in not-so-great health. For every day of the 9 month wait I was worried he would pass and the transfer would get all FUBAR'd by his estate trying to claim my property that hadn't been approved yet as their own. Everything worked out in the end but no way I'd do that again, too nerve wracking.

Yeah, the wait sucks but the pay off is worth the wait.

Having said that, the price for some with tax stamp and wait, to me, aren’t worth it. Take a dedicated 22lr can. The wait, plus cost and tax stamp make that a hard pill to swallow. For now I’ll swap a 5.56 can to my 22’s but would prefer to have a smaller can with shorter threads for 22 only use.

I bought my 22 can first as it does the most good and I shoot a lot of 22. Fits my pistols and rifles and is very, very quiet in my bolt action Savage FVSR rifle. I next bought one for my 9mm and 45acp. I have considered one for my high powered rifles but they would still be very loud anyway, so I have held off.
