Yeah, I'd have to say that talking to an underage girl online and luring her into having sex is one thing, an underage girl that has been prostituting herself for money is a bit different. I don't advocate either, but I don't think the penalties should be equal.

My personal opinion is that the girl (as far as I know) promoted or made the strong implication that she was at least 18. Under that circumstance I don’t believe this guy, or any other should be charged with any age related offense.

I don’t have any fondness of the guy. He could very well have been looking for the youngest looking legal age girl he could find. Or may have been looking for an underage girl pretending to be older...

But there have been many cases of underage girls pretending to be older and ruining the lives of men. Sometimes to cover their own asses when they get caught. Add in that you have 14year old girls regularly dressing like 19 year old prostitutes and pasting their faces over with makeup (I assume because their parents have better things to do than raise their kids) and it’s no surprise men end up in court trying to explain why they aren’t a pedophile for nailing a 15y/o who thought it would be cool to nail an older guy because she has no grasp on what actually matters in life after her parents completely failed at parenting and their kid instead learned that sex is currency and lying is fine in order to achieve raise social standing among the other kids who have learned promiscuity is cool because television told them so.

This is a pet issue for Dimms. They don’t want us to have any guns so they stir up fear of assasinations using guns that are near worthless.

This whole issue is stupid. If it wasn’t for the NEWS CORPORATIONS this wouldn’t be news.

And her counselor reported it, I think? What kind of parents are letting their sixteen year old daughter do this but are paying enough attention to have the kid in counseling? Makes no sense.

Here is some info on Defense Distributed that was posted on reddit, so hopefully the fight will continue even without Cody.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Defense_Distributed/comments/9hrq6l/future_of_defense_distributed/e6ebs48/
The following statements are mine and mine alone. They do not reflect CRW's thoughts/opinions/actions. This is not an official statement from Defense Distributed and/or any of its subsidiaries. I am offering this personal statement as a reassurance that Ghost Gunner and its related products are not legally connected to CRW's present legal difficulties. I will not answer questions related to CRW's present situation, as that is not the point of this statement. My goal is to reassure you - our customers - that GhostGunner's future is not immediately in jeopardy.

    Who am I?
I have been DD's primary engineer since 2013. Specifically, I designed most of our 3DP creations (including Liberator). I am GhostGunner's primary designer. Specifically, if you purchased a GG more than two years ago, then every single design aspect of that machine - except for the DDcut software executable AND the initial (opensource) grbl firmware (which I modified for GG) - was my creation. Since then, we've had other people design certain aspects, primarily because I took an extended break from DD after burning myself out designing and shipping the original machine. I am forever grateful for the others who took over maintaining GG in my absence (I was available for critical issues (e.g. redesigning GG's spindle)). I reveal this information not to brag, but to answer OP's concerns about DD's future. From a technological perspective, we will still be able to create products. It helps that Cody and I share each others' vision, so I believe we can continue to disrupt in his absence.

I know Cody well and talked with him regularly (three times yesterday). In regards to "DD's future", Cody is the visionary and a brilliant agitator. The risk that I go to prison due to anything DD has done are 0%; Cody and I were always very careful to make sure that anything legally uncertain was always done with his neck on the line. So I'm not going anywhere.
I won't go into too much detail on the financials, but I will point out that all donations y'all made during last month's fundraising drive went directly to the Second Amendment Foundation; neither DD nor CRW touched a single dollar. We did this to maximize your donations; for political reasons, DD has had a difficult time maintaining our tax exempt status, whereas the SAF has a much easier time not paying any tax on your donations... for that reason they got the money directly, as they are also a plaintiff. In short, any dollar you donated will be used to support our 1st and 2nd amendment cases. A few of y'all noted that when y'all previously asked "I thought I was donating to DD, but the receipt says SAF. Why is that?" Purchase y'all made for patches/USB drives/any physical object went directly to our bank account, which we retain access to.
We have operated without Cody's presence for long periods in the past. While these allegations are generating a media frenzy, I can assure y'all that it's business as usual for the most part. We are getting quite a few more phone calls than normal, and the press has tried really hard to come inside, but at the moment all business components related to Ghost Gunner are running 100%.

If Cody is tried, sentenced, and ends up in prison, then we'll certainly lose "the same edginess about [our] brand," but from a technological/product pipeline/production/fulfillment standpoint, we are very well capable of continuing to function. In fact, we just hired a new engineer on Monday (who is a bit confused at the moment, but is still coming to work).

You must know that Cody and I have long understood that he might end up in prison (although I didn't think it would be under these circumstances), so rest assured we had a plan for when yesterday finally arrived.

Thank you for your support. We will issue an official statement as soon as such statement doesn't incur any legal obligations.

Agree, has nothing to do with guns.
Sadly just one more chink in the 2A armor of legal gun owners.
    Shame on him, though.

He allegedly hooked up with her (age 16) on SugarDaddyMeet.com.
I've NOT got to that site. Somebody please check it out for us.
She may not be totally without guilt, eh???

Sex with an underage hooker is a lame sort of thing to get one into the international news.

If guilty he screwed himself badly.
Not even slightly newsworthy on the national stage were it not for the "guilt by association" with the printed-gun thing.

Though he did, allegedly, break an exceedingly serious law and gifted the courts with an easy way to put him away for a long time. Foolishly so.

OK, I will. How many people knew I would volunteer for this? :)

I'm now signed up. There was no verification process besides verifying my email. (More spam incoming, no doubt.) The Terms of Service are clear that you must be over 18 but it's possible to sign up at the lowest level without ever seeing the TOS.

Signing up at a higher level is more complicated. I haven't done it and probably won't unless my curiosity gets the better of me. However, I can point out that most of the women who could get any responses are posting pictures of themselves. That only makes sense. To have a "verified" picture, you must upload a scanned copy of your driver's license or other government-issued ID such as a passport.

If Wilson contacted someone without a "verified" picture, he didn't do his due diligence. If anyone actually trusts the site to verify age by looking at a scanned copy of a potentially fake ID, they're not doing their due diligence.

I suppose I could get much more information if I wanted to pay money, get a full membership, and do some exploring. For now, though, this basic information should give you some insight.

Note - The first profile that I pulled up on my first search began this way: "My end goal is find people who will enhance my life monetarily ...". No matter what lip service they pay on the site to being a dating app, only, with no tolerance for escorting, the true nature of the site is incredibly obvious.

Ben....you've earned my respect in the past...re-verified it here today.

    Cool investigative posting.

Because they MADE him go to Taiwan and bang a 16-year-old. C'mon.

There's no doubt he has drawn a LOT of scrutiny and won't be getting any breaks; however, knowledge of that should dictate that he give them no reason(s) to nail him.

    Entrapment or perv...?

It seems more than coincidence that all of these “enemies of the state” get popped for this shit like clockwork.

Sorta like how Clinton adversaries manage to wake up dead like clockwork.

    But what do I know...

I don’t think it was a setup. He’s of the generation that is comfortable using apps and the web to for the most personal of reasons.

My airmen would come in daily talking about who they met on tender and whether or not they would be seeing them again because the age was questionable.

I ended up pulling them all in one day and had a conversation with them. I can see their side of the issue but, my take is most of these apps and sites are thinly veiled covers for a lot of sex workers.

I don’t really care about choices like that people make, but you’ve got to be really careful in any type of situation where sex is a realistic outcome, because the apps, etc that are acting as mediators have no duty to validate any user info.

Never tell the government No. When they say don't do something. You keep doing it. You'll end up as a sexual offender.

Nobody will believe your side of the story because the government is always right. So when they say you can't disseminate plans to print guns. Say the 'No' part to yourself. Not to their faCe. Or a 16yo Austin level prostitute will get you.

He's wasn't a perv until he blew off the federal government. They supremely hate that $hit and shut the guy down in the classic style.
