replaced the belt tensioner on my truck. Couldn't get the new belt on. Holy **** there is no room in there. Started getting dizzy like an old fat man so I stopped. I'm 37 and not gigantic.

    Will try again Friday.

Changed the oil in my X during a 30 minute stretch of no rain on Friday. I walked out to take the trash out and saw sunshine. I quickly changed oil and filter. Literally as soon as I dropped the hood closed, it started raining again.

Finally have a motor coming in for my Mercedes E55 that I smoked last March. The back story was that I was running the car at the texas mile and the engine let loose at about 160 mph. Work, kids, life and motorcycles has so far got in the way of fixing it. Alas the weather is turning so back into the race car life.

My car has about 105,000 on it or there abouts. I sourced a motor with 140k. A little more miles than I wanted but the price was right. $1350 shipped.

Good news it that the motor is 99% complete. My plan is to get them both tore apart to get the best of the 2 assemblies to make a good one. I will probably start a new thread as I know some guys like the finer details.

I will have a spare blower, heads, cams, intercooler some accessories and the other misc parts I already have.

This is the replacement. Note, the long tubes are not included. I already have a set of those.

I would too. I want to see what's up with German engineering and craftsmanship. For the prices they charge. I'd also enjoy seeing what the guts of a Mercedes looks like. Specifically the rods and main caps. A Piston too.

I'll do my best to actually cover a project for once. It will actually drag on for at least a year or two as I have plans to take the damaged block and get Darton sleeves for it.

Short term however, I plan on having it running in a month or two as time dictates.

I went to fill my wiper fluid, and I saw my battery hold down post has corrosion. My engine bay is immaculate, so this caught my attention pretty quick. It tripped me out because the hold down post closer to the terminals doesn't look this bad.

I lifted my positive terminal protector and about had a fit! I know this is a known problem with the battery used by these trucks, but wasn't expecting it on a 9 month old truck! Well, as easy a job as this is - I'm paying for an extended warranty. Tomorrow it's going in for a new radio, windshield washer sprayer nozzle, battery service, and new hold down. I may see if I can squeeze in a complimentary tire rotation for this upcoming trip to FL.
