So, last week I went in to purchase heartworm preventative from the Vet for my GSD. They said they wouldn't give it to me, it was a controlled substance. What? Was I going to eat it. I couldn't if I tried, and he is cantankerous about swallowing them anyway. So, I have to make an appointment, and I did. Then right before they closed this weekend, they wanted to confirm, my confirmation of my GSD's appointment. So, when they opened today I confirmed my confirmation of the appointment I made in the first place. The appointment was at 16:30, we waited an hour after that just for them to begin. We just got home.

On the Brightside he doesn't have heartworm. Finally got that 80 lb muscle machine to swallow it.

You can only imagine what a fully male GSD that is just a way over a year old is like when he is bored for an hour.

Next time you need heart worm medication for your dog try www.deadfleaz.com . They are based out of Australia and will ship to the states without a prescription. I've been using them for years and they are good to go.

Are you putting the pill in peanut butter? That always works.

He is too smart. One year, I got into a wrestling match trying wet dog food, cheese. Last time I just put it his mouth and closed it shut and raised his muzzle up, and that got it. This time he cheeked it, and everything else. Finally, with about three eggs, he finally swallowed the thing. It wasn't hard when he was a puppy, because he was always putting things in his mouth he wasn't supposed to, so the preventative was just one more thing. He was having a weird day. He was doing, I really want out, but I really want back in, but I really want out, but I really want back in. I fed him, let him run around the yard. It took two vets to hold him down, as he is all muscle. He is always running and exercising. He was none too amused about the worm test.

He despises other dogs, because when I would take him to the vet at as a little guy, the big dogs would bark and snap at him. Now, he knows how big he is and wants a piece out of all of them for the early bullying. When my wife takes him for a walk, and someone who just leaves their dog unattended in the front yard starts up, he makes Cujo look calm.

We just toss it in his direction.
He'll snatch it out of the air and swallow it before he knows what it is.

It never worked for my middle dog (half doxie, half chihuahua), who would eat the peanut butter--licking it forever--and then leave the medication behind. The only answer was to get a chewable that she liked.
