Probably been done before but looking through the last years posts didn't see it.

What companies and vendors are on your " go to" and "stay away" from list ? Some of mine.

    I've had good experiences with..

    SGammo
H&K ( believe it or not)
    Oregon Trails
    Dillon Precision
    Henry Arms
    State Arms/ERGC
    44mag.com
    CDNN

    On the fence about...

MidwayUSA -I've been with them since before they had a website but their shipping is ridiculous now and half the stuff I want is always on back order. Most things are cheaper elsewhere anyhow.

PSA- bought two lowers both had issues but they did make it right. Maybe my fault I did go cheap on them.

KelTec- they come out with new models when they can't keep up with demand for existing models. I kinda want some of their products but refuse to pay scalpers prices to get them. Haven't checked lately maybe its got better ?

Widener's- data breaches that could have been handled better.

    My never again list..

Sportsman's Guide. -They screwed me on some AK mags and wouldn't make it right. Their pictures and descriptions don't match what you get. Conditions aren't accurate either. They USE to be a great company back in the day.

Cheaper Than Dirt -They screwed the whole shooting community after Sandy Hook by dropping their inventory then re listing everything at higher prices and dropping existing orders and back orders.

Century Arms -bought SAR1, WASR10, L1A1, and a CETME. The only one trouble free from the start was the SAR1 ,still have it.

NOSLER- bought 1250 44 Cal bullets that were undersized. Sent pics in my micrometer and calipers and then sent samples to them. They claimed they never received them. Yeah right.

    Sure I'll think of more.

    Thumbs up:

    Primary Arms
    Ranier Arms
    Grab A Gun
    SGammo
    Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore
    Target Sports USA
    Brownell's
    Palmetto State Armory
    Outdoor Limited
    Cabela's
    Bonefrog Club
    Underwood Ammo
    Academy (for their free shipping)
    Gunmag Warehouse
    Quantico Tactical
    BCM
    Aim Surplus
    S&W
    Glock
    Ruger
    Ammocanman

    Not so hot:

Midway USA High prices and expensive shipping
Sportsman's Guide High prices and expensive shipping
Selway Armory Decent prices, good selection, but high shipping charges

    Avoiding:

Cheaper than dirt> You know why
Walmart> Mine doesn't sell firearms and their ammo is expensive and very limited selection (Fudd stuff)
Freedom Munitions> All their ammo is over priced and under powered +tax
Georgia Arms> Good ammo, but shipping is outrageous
    Lucky Gunner> High prices
Ammo to Go> High prices, shipping, +tax

I primarily order my "things" from
    Classic Firearms
    JG Sales
    AIM Surplus
    Palmetto State Armory
    Southern Ohio Gun
    Cabelas
    Midway USA
    Lee Precision (reloading tools)

    I avoid:
Cheaper Than Dirt (they will never see another dime from me)
    Sportsman's guide (Buyers Club Shysters)
Centerfire Systems (Ammo goes on sale, but shipping prices increase??)

Is Sinclair still as wonderful as they used to be?
The only order I ever placed with Sinclair never got delivered and was deleted from their system 1 year later. At least they didn't charge my credit card.
In their defence, the order was for a case of primers during the bozo administration. Hard to come by anywhere.

I've told the story before so I won't go into detail but 20+ years ago, I really trusted Sinclair. I trusted them to the point that when my mom wanted to buy me something for Christmas, I'd tell her to call Sinclair and have one of the reps look over my old purchases. I told her to then buy whatever that rep said he thought I'd like. That's how much I trusted them.

Since then, they've been brought under the Brownells umbrella and I haven't bought enough from them to tell if there's been much of a change.

22mods4all - bought a built upper that was on sale from them and it was all munged up. Looked like they slingshotted the charging handle/bolt 20 times test firing it. Then where the upper mounted to the lower was torn up too....like it had been on a number of lowers. More like the upper was a demo model. Got the run around but they did offer to make a new one... This all happened after I called them out weeks after placing an order only to find out they were out of stock of the barrel for the upper and they failed to let anyone know or give them options. I had ragged on them rather harshly about that...then I got the munged upper.

I don't particularly have tons of experience with a whole bunch of vendors. Usually if I find one I like I try to stick with them.

    Likes:

    1. Sportsmans outdoor superstore. Shipped a pistol the next day and I got it 2 days later. Shipping was free. Probably the best experience I've had.

    2. Classic firearms. Used them a couple times. They waited a week before shipping the first gun. Waited 4 days to ship the second. Prices are usually pretty good and their description of the gun was exactly what I got.

    3. Academy. Bought some ammo before. 350 rounds remington umc for 60 with free shipping. Anytime they have hot deals on ammo they're worth a shot.

    4. PSA. Bought a complete upper. Price was cheap. Shipping was free. Shipped in 2 days. At my door by the end of the week. No complaints. Have heard shipping is extremely slow during panic buying though.

I may be lucky because I haven't had any bad experiences with online retailers. Don't really plan on branching out and trying new ones out either though.

I like Academy and my 2 LGS.
I will not buy again from Kentucky Gun Club and now on my list is Cabelas due to their new policy on you are not able to test/check used firearms until after you buy it.

Have been good, but at times can be slow.

    PSA (almost always slow)

I've avoided Cheaper Than Dirt, I haven't heard one person say anything good about them.

Midway USA because I like Larry. He’s awesome.

    Gunmag warehouse.

Bravo company USA cause they make great products and are a dealer to d&h mags.

Little insider info: if you know your local ffl is using rsr and you want a rifle and pistol, get it coming next day air saver. Because they ship out of Nevada, Nevada law forces them to over night handguns, so if a long gun is with the order both guns come over night at a very good rate like 32 bucks I recall. It was something like that in 2016.

    Sorry, only negative views.

Midway - took my order and never delivered, even after a year. Cancelled it and vowed never to buy from them again.

    Ok, maybe some positive.
    1. Target Sports USA (ammo)
    2. Grab-A-Gun. - always delivered on orders promptly.

    Use and Like:
    Grab A Gun
    Primary Arms
    Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore
    Bud's
    Outdoor Limited
    Cabela's
    Quantico Tactical

Have used and will not again:

Cheaper than Dirt (they are NOT and their service sucks)
LOCAL Acadamy in Waco (their gun counter guy is a B-hole)

    http://www.orrtactical.com/ Alan is a friend of mine. I buy all my .45acp, 9mm, .40sw & 5.56 ammo from him. If he made 7.62x39, .357 & .45 Colt, I'd buy that too.

    No use for:
    Colt (decent firearms, abyssmal CS)
    Glock
    Carter's Country
Freedom Munitions (laughed out loud when they closed the Jersey Village store)

    Happy with:
    CDDN
Classic Firearms (usually have the guns in 2 days)
    Brownells
    Lone Wolf

    OK:
PSA - they will a little sluggish getting stuff shipped but otherwise just fine, and the free shipping deals only apply to part of the orders.

    Dislike:
Freedom Munitions - I can get factory cheaper than their reloads, and the .308 ammo I have groups worse than the Monarch steel I got at Academy as a joke
Cheaper than Dirt - bunch of asshats, and no.. they are not cheap

    Like:
Ammoman dot com (Out of NJ but prices are great usually.)
PSA - Bought lots from them and always had good experiences. Even shipping for me has usually been better than average.
Brownells has been good to me too.
Primary Arms - Pay for standard shipping and it’s here next day.
    Joe Bob’s - Good prices
Red Barn Armory - Pick and choose AR LPK by piece.
Heart of Texas Armory - My local FFL. Good guy and good prices.

    Don’t Like:
Optics Planet has to have the slowest shipping on earth. I wonder if there parts are shipped from another planet. Price has to beat everyone by miles and be something I don’t need for months.
Stag Arms - Ordered LH upper before Black Friday last year, finally delivered in June. Lots of excuses from them. Price was phenomenal so in the end it worked out but I won’t do it again.
