The cop will observe his test subject for a minimum of 15 minutes prior to taking the breath sample to assure there's no interference from residual (mouth) alcohol. The beer from an hour ago will have dissipate. The beer from 5 minutes ago won't be measured in the sample.

My experience shows different. Of course, my mouth is not normal either, due to salivary depreciation. So???

But there have been cases of people blowing over, going to the police station 15 minutes later and testing legal.

I only drink while reading Dawico posts.
    Only way they make sense.

As a gun owner and shooter, I don't want to be associated with firearm owners who alter their lifestyle concerning the usage of drugs and or alcohol. I choose my friends wisely.

I’m very personally anti-pot. Like I don’t like hearing about it or seeing it. Don’t like being around it and don’t want to be around others who use it if I have a choice. Don’t like stoner humor. I lived with someone who smoked daily for years when I was young. I hated being around the use of the substance. I didn’t hate the person doing it. That’s just my opinion.

I don’t like being around drunks either but drinking doesn’t make me near as pissed. With marijuana use it’s a very visceral negative reaction from me. I can be polite when having a discussion but don’t expect me to fake that I’m feeling hunky dory about anything I have to do with it, including dealing with someone who is high or ESPECIALLY me smelling or breathing in that smoke.

I just had to tell an eleven year old kid client who is on the brink of psychotic thinking anyways that her fascination with trying pot in the future probably isn’t going to be the best thing ever for her developing brain or tenuous grasp on reality.

    Wait...

...I work all day, I come home after work, take a shower and have a cold one.

    Pot meet kettle.

...In no way am I intoxicated after one beer..
Tolerance is an indicator of chronic alcoholism. You may not believe one beer alters your mental state, but it’s hard to cheat human physiology. Due to tolerance, you just don’t realize that you’re experiencing a low BAC.

Well, I am not intoxicated after one beer and I’m pretty sure that that has nothing to do with being a chronic alcoholic, considering that episodes of drinking said beers could be weeks or months or days apart, doesn’t matter. No “tolerance” noted.

It's a body chemistry thing also...

I enjoy a glass of quality bourbon a couple/few times a month on average, and unless it's the 120+ proof stuff, a small glass (equiv to between 1-2 doubles, neat) simply has a calming/relaxing effect, very mild buzz (if it can even be called that much), and a tendency to inhibit the brain/mouth filter just a tiny bit...wouldn't want to drive afterwards, but definately not even close to drunk at that point and no degradation of motor skills or situational judgement (aside from said tendency towards unfiltered expression of thought)...This remains unchanged even if I go several (or more) months without having a drink..

On the flip side, I know several people who need to be very careful, as a single beer or mixed/frozen drink and they start getting a bit (noticeably) loopy...

I think the key is just knowing yourself and your own limits as much as possible. That said, hard to be old & wise without having been young & stupid at somepoint...

If my job pissed for it and I didn't want it known on the vast and wide internet. That'd be my response too.

Good Job, keep it up. Hold the line.

I'm sure that there are many that could say that with credibility, but I have known many, myself included at one point, that would mimic much of what you said and no way pass a sobriety test, even back when it was a higher limit.
