As I said in another thread, I rarely smoked weed. I don't like being depressed. And that is what weed made me feel like. As for alcohol, maybe one or two beers a week. Even less in winter. I've never been much of a drinker.

You smoked Mexican rag weed. Fast forward to 2018. It's entirely a different situation.

I understand you've tried it. However, American grown and properly. No pesticides, no poison nothing. Cured and aged. No Mexican pressing it between plywood for the gringos.

People are buying stock in cannabis companies. It's a billion dollar industry. Take a vacation to liberal Colorado and make a modern decision. Report back with a review. Then only then can you understand.

    Wait...

    Pot meet kettle.

Tolerance is an indicator of chronic alcoholism. You may not believe one beer alters your mental state, but it’s hard to cheat human physiology. Due to tolerance, you just don’t realize that you’re experiencing a low BAC.

I live in Colorado. I don't smoke weed and I hope everyone who uses it and sells it dies.

I say almost the same expression all the time... to be old & wise you must first be young & dumb.
At the end of the day, the important thing is just making it through alive and absent any felonies (not always as easy as it sounds, in either case). After that, it's all just part of the ride...

I'm sure that there are many that could say that with credibility, but I have known many, myself included at one point, that would mimic much of what you said and no way pass a sobriety test, even back when it was a higher limit.
Agreed, which is why I wouldn't drive afterwards amd didn't mention BAC, as I'm sure 4-fingers of small-barrel bourbon is way beyond that point.

Case in point, I came up on a checkpoint about a mile short of my house a few years ago after leaving a birthday party. Felt fine, but still had the ol' lady drive just in case (she was bf at time so no liquor at all), and would have been screwed otherwise.

That said, a long time ago I used to know a dude who looked kinda like me, even drove the same model vehicle (but definitely wasn't me), who may have gotten extremely lucky in passing several checkpoints withoit being flagged for testing, while insanely beyond the legal BAC limit. Very dumb and definately not recommended, but different place/time & population density...

It’s how I really think and feel. I know that I’m not a freak to think this way, but responses like this kinda make me feel like one.

Don’t sweat it. Nobody with any sense thought you were saying it to CYA.

Not at all, I feel much the same way. Not that I really mind what others do, as long as it isn't hurting others, it's just I don't need alcohol or drugs in my life, and that includes others around me.

I guess I should have said that recreational drugs are illegal here and with my job I wouldn't want the problems associated with them. I don't mind being around people that are having a drink, but if it gets to excess, I don't want to be around them. But, if someone were to ask me to drive them because they had too much to drink, I would do that rather then have them drive themselves.

As others have said, I was young and dumb once and there was a point I would have been offended if there were others partaking and didn't include me. Now I cringe thinking back at some of the things I had done while drunk or high and thank God I lived through it.

Understood. We had a bit of a play a stupid game situation here recently but luckily the prize was indeed stupid AND bad but WAY less bad than it could have been. Like I was thankful for it. It was very humbling (for hubs mostly) and it’s a bit frustrating to know that to a point, we are still dumber than we would like to think we are.

Hey... don't feel that way. We all have our opinions and experience's. We are here on common ground that we like to shoot and uphold our right to bare arms. What works for one, doesn't work for another, is totally cool and understandable. I 120% respect your opinion on the matter.

I'm pro for it. But... I do not part take. Nor will I ever shove down anyone's throat for them to change their mind.
