Well, think about it. It's bad enough with drunk drivers. And now pot heads out there on the road. C'mon. Get real. Do you really think we need more drunks and stoners on the roads? I don't.

Smoke it and drink it at home and stay home. Why toss the dice? Is it really worth it?

The biggest danger of a pot head on the road is to accidentally hit them in the rear as they are headed down the freeway in the far right hand lane at 20 MPH.

Which IS an issue. There was some dude in a blue old school 70’s Toyota that used to drive WAY under the speed limit and almost cause accidents all the time. Tell me if you lived in Brazoria County twenty years ago and you DON’T remember that guy.

Sure. The delayed reaction time when someone stops in front of them, or them running someone over on the crosswalk as they plow through a red light while contemplating the mysteries of the universe are no dangers at all.

Well the danger sounds clear and present on paper...but when it comes down to trying to determine the causative factor in a traffic crash...never saw one where the driver having a head full of marriejomama could be rationally listed. Maybe other old traffic cops have had different experiences...but I dont think you will find many who will testify differently.

Watch Live pd. Half the idiots stopped are on pot and are stopped for the same reasons drunks are. Decision making No lights, weaving etc. Also traffic accidents are exploding in states with legal/decriminalized MJ. That info is everywhere.

I dont care what a person does to themselves at home. I dont think the gooberment should either. Wanna smoke MJ or kill your self by taking fentanyl laced everything go right ahead, but dont be stupid and drive under the influence. You can't have it both ways. It can't be a wonder drug that makes everyone laid back relaxed and easygoing and not effect your ability to make decisions, quick responses and drive safely. Not everyone is like some likeable stoner on a B movie. Today's MJ is much stronger than even a few years ago thanks to good old capitalism. Demand drives products availability and improvement. It also has opposite effects on some people where they become agitated and in most folks it impacts your decision making.

Imho driving while drinking or on MJ should be a much higher crime than it is. At least agg assault at a minimum especially repeat offenders. That's because you are knowingly and recklessly putting everyone in danger. No different than shooting a gun down the street.

Killing someone while under influence should be 2nd degree murder. Not intoxicated manslaughter. Killing someone while under the influence after you've had license taken away or previous DUI should be 1st/felony murder. No different than someone dying during any other crime.

I can't fathom anyone not stoned out of their mind actually saying/arguing that MJ doesn't impair your ability to drive. Christ Almighty people.

Only TV I watch is Fox News and preaching. Cop shows are too boring. Found some inertesting nuggets at this link on the topic at hand. Seems to be one of the salient points is..folks high on MJ know they are messed up and try to act nice..while drunk drivers dont. Now being drunk and stoned at the same time seems to be really a recipe for bad things to happen. Have often said when meeting an impaired driver on a two lane bridge..I had much rather meet one who has a head full of dope as opposed to a belly full of Black Jack.
