Like my SKS acquisition earlier this year, I figure I better pick up a Mosin 91/30 before they get into the stupid expensive range like M1 Carbines and K98s have. Does anybody have a feel for what the going price is these days for a shooter grade?

Extreme low end today for a common round receiver 91/30 seems to be $175+; but most I see are asking in the $225-250 range and more. This video talks about them selling for $350-400...

Odd since 7.62x54r ammo isn't as cheap or as easy to find.

The days of $99 Mosins are long gone...

I should add, my main concern isn't looking for a cheap rifle to shoot. It's the desire to build out my early 20th century rifle collection.

Aim Surplus still selling run of the mill rifles for $399.99...

Prices are all over.......as stated above, surplus ammo has dried up...commercial ammo quite a bit more expensive....

I bought a bunch of them at Big Five for $79-99
Sold and traded off the ones that were not interesting to me
I kept a few of the older nice Hexs
    Wont ever sell those

Just to note I "tapped out" on buying Mosins a while back, so I really don't pay much attention to them these days. I am actually happy with the increase in prices as that means my collection is worth more, but I'm never going to sell them so it's really a moot point. I see how much people are asking for them at gun shows and laugh as it wasn't that long ago that you could easily pick one up for under a C-note.

They are great rifles and even with increased prices I would recommend getting one. I love mine!

Same here, I rarely look anymore as well though when I do I am sometimes tempted to sell, but the hoarder in me has won that battle so far.

The last one I bought was $150. At the time I was embarrassed by that, but y'all know the feeling...I had to have just 1 more :). All the other's came in at the $90 to $110 range.

I bought a couple under the c-note price, but would have paid more if someone else had cleaned them first......

Anyone buy a Chinese Type 53 when they hit the market? Rough, but still a good shooter imho....and a great addition to the collection.....

I have three, to include a documented Vietnam war bring-back.

The other two looked like a dog chewed on them. Paid $75 for one of them...
