interesting, I had read something saying the Rem was smoother out of the box.I'd go with the Tac14. Even if it's rougher out of the box you have more to work with and have tuned up into a very reliable and slick action.

I'm more than likely getting the Rem since it's on sale and I already have a 870

erm... OK. haven't shot in like 18 months. Got a handful of defense weapons that need testing. We expect pics and a review.
I plan to spend however much a +1 extension is lol. this is going to be a toolI’m not saying it will be rougher, it’s a just a possibility. There’s only so much you can do with a Mossberg. I am saying there’s no comparison with my tuned Stakeout and a factory Tac14. The margin is even greater comparing the Stakeout to the Mossberg. It all depends on what you want to do with it and how much you want to spend.

on my 870 I used a hammer, 3/8 extension, and socket. Fishing it back out was fun.As is mine lol. I was able to qualify with mine on our patrol shotgun course, but now it’s just a “shop keeper”. Get the tool to iron out the dimples for your plus one extension. If you have trouble finding one look here https://suarezinternational.com/magazine-tube-extensions/
