In other words, in the summer months I typically go shooting with my semi rifles, as well as semi pistols. However, in the autumn months I enjoy breaking out the coach gun, the cowboy .45 long colt revolver, and the .45 Revolving Carbine. Why? I reckon it's because in the autumn I also enjoy watching western movies like Shane, Lonesome Dove, True Grit, etc. I know, it's weird but, I enjoy it.

I think the hunting season and area I am hunting in affects mine the most. For example, when I hunt CO, I carry my 44 mag pistol, as there are bears and mountain lions there. But when I hunt Texas I tend to carry a 9mm pistol for the mostly smallish critters that I might confront.

I prefer the semi autos in the hotter months because I’m moving around more and not just sitting under a hot sun.

When the weather is cooler I don’t mind going prone and taking the time for the long shots. I just don’t want to boil in the summer.
