    Hoji,

What you're doing is highly commendable.

Do you think californians would come here if needed and return your kind of help to Texas?
The majority of Californians I have interacted with ( outside of the Bay Area) have been pro gun solid conservative/ libertarian people. Remember , they account for 40% of the state

    Hoji,

    That's truly reassuring.

    I wish them all well.

It's got to be tough for them to have so very many liberal/commie wack jobs to contend with....

I would further surmise, many are stuck there with little option to leave....or they would.

The state mismanages the huge amounts of public land in California and has gutted the wildlife and forestry departments leading to uncontrolled vegetation and timber. This, along with the huge encroachment by the public into previously uninhabited areas leads to these fires starting and the ones that pop up during the high wind seasons are especially bad. One of the biggest offenders in Northern California is PG&E, the monster utility company, whose poor maintenance of utility lines has caused many of these fires. The state is in the process of passing bail out legislature so the taxpayers can pay the huge fines PG&E is saddled with as the result of their liability for the fire damages. Having lived in that area and having seen the conditions leading up to the fires as well as living through them, I can say that it is the worse of all worlds. The worse part is that the story keeps repeating itself over and over again. No one seems to care that the firefighters put their lives on the line year after year for situations that could have been avoided.

My son worked for a big oil company in Ca. When Katrina hit they sent a communication truck loaded with internet equipment that the public used, free of charge, to locate relatives.

Ok. The complete and utter property destruction I saw today was shocking.

To get to our jobsite I had to weave around cars that stalled from smoke and heat ( take notes if you are in a fire prone area, make sure your O2 sensors are at 100%)
Thankfully no bodies in those vehicles so I think they made it out.

No pictures, I will take some of scorched landscape later but not of everything lost by the people here.

I must admit, I was surprised at the number of progun, conservative people I have met here.

That catches a lot of people by surprise it seems. Calguns is one of the busiest gun forums I've been on. There are a lot of gun owners and right leaning folks in CA. They just get drowned out by the extremely liberal majority and the representatives that they send to Sacramento and Washington DC.

My oldest and her husband live in Burbank.
We visited in late summer this year.
Drove through that area on our way to a few days in Ventura.
    Hurts to know it's destroyed.

I gotta be honest. I've seen more freaks in the mall at Abilene than I saw at LA and So Cal.
    Prayers for those affected.
    Thanks Hoji for helping.

If I was ever going to live in CA it would be in the Ventura area. I like it alot, and the surf fishing is fantastic.

As far as freaks are concerned, you should have taken a drive through Hollywood. They call it Hollyweird for a reason. Saw things I'd never seen before down there.

All the traffic is heading this way, should be an easy move.
