A contractor added a second story above our ground floor offices. They used green 4X4's without support wrap. I could sit at my desk and watch them bend. I shared an office in the Engineering department. It took several weeks to convince them to condemn it.Neighbor behind me put up a new fence on the property line. I paid half, of course, but he wanted to do all the labor. The 4x4s used as posts looked fine.
After a couple of months, one of them decided to just take a right turn half-way up. It warped so hard and fast it broke the fence. We had to add a wedge-shaped picket and a repair block to make the fence look right and I have no confidence it won't break again in another couple of months.
I didn't realize that a 4x4 could warp that much. Yes, he got the lumber from a local Home Depot.

Was driving from Buffalo to Toronto, it began to snow - first of the season. Got to motel with 4" on the ground. By morning it was 6". News reported there were 1100 SINGLE VEHICLE accidents in the Toronto area overnight. Guess even Canadians forget how to drive during the summer.
That's because she is.

This reminds me of the one thing I miss about California. I was 45min from miles and miles of BLM land where it was legal and free to shoot.
Probably all the trash laying around from other shooters. How does THAT remind you of shooting on BLM land? Did the BLM land shoot back?
Actually yes, all the trash laying around but also the terrain. One time I organized a " range cleanup " with a few like-minded people on a similar forum Calguns. I personally hauled 900lbs of junk, 14 tires, and burned a huge pile of plywood.Probably all the trash laying around from other shooters.
Apparently nobody there reloads shotgun shells.
