I got a special treat and was on a several thousand acre ranch near Hebbronville earlier this week.

Saw all kinds of wildlife including those weird Crested Caracara birds

I was in the stand Monday evening and musing about shooting a big black pig in the face but not wanting to hurt my chances of seeing more deer.
Two members here, which will remain anonymous, were daring me to shoot the pig over text messages but being the good hunter I am , I was able to restrain myself from the instant gratification of killing the pig and low and behold, this super nice 8 walked out to my east and I was able to send him a 130 gr projectile from my Savage .270 which he took to heart and assumed ambient temperature soon afterwards.

My sentiments exactly. But he wouldn’t shoot it.

And knowing what I know now, I still wouldn't shoot it
I made the right call for me.

There is no way in hell i would trade shooting a pig for the best buck I've ever shot

Maybe you guys would, but it wasn't your hunt.

I didnt drive 400 miles 1 way to shoot a pig. I can shoot pigs at my place anytime.

The place i was on, said we could shoot pigs but they didn't seem to be over ran with them

They have people come hunt them with dogs all of them time.

Honestly, when he sent the picture of the pig, I thought he was at his own place. When he posted the goofy bird picture, I remembered he was down south.

    Pig still needed killing.
