Bruce Jenner fluid, wth is that?

If something gross (as I suspect) please don't answer.

It's not gross. I have a couple of brand new jugs for $75 each. 22oz total.

Best motor wax on the market. Can I mark you down for a couple cases at a 10% discount?

I'm going to need a answer quick. There's other people waiting to buy it and they're getting antsy.

The salesman can make upwards of 10-15k a month. The power people.

The sales manager makes at least $15,000 a month doing nothing but scrolling a number on paper the salesman hands to you.

    Finance Manager, $20,000

Dealership manager. Usually a either really fat guy or a tiny skinny guy wearing a real suit. He makes a minimum of about $25 grand a month.

    ....

You wouldn't believe the money dealerships make. You'd think they sell maybe a few cars a month. Nope, 25-75 cars a DAY at some places.

but, but the last salesman told me they weren't making any money on the deal....
My mom was a loan mgr. at a CU for 20years. It is indeed a racket. Bought my current Volvo from Toyota of Dallas and the saleswoman was great. Worked a deal on the phone and came in and drove off after an hour in finance. Only 2 numbers matter. What are you giving me for my trade and what am I buying your car for. Buyers need to know the figure they will sign for before even stepping foot inside.

Before we got married, some sales guy sold my wife on a Pontiac Sunfire financed for 72months

The majority of the money made by the dealership is off interest. It's also a reason why they hate people buying it all in cash.

If the bank gives you, say 5%. That's what they'll charge for the borrowed money. The finance manager gets you to sign off on 7%. The dealer got two points on you. In the math of things divided by how long you finance it.

It's incredibly money. The dealer gets the money off those two interest points.

I’ll be looking to get into a 2017 or 2018 GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado soon. I have been using car gurus to search for what good deals are. Just using that site alone it looks like I can save a few thousand.

My Honda motorcycle is the first vehicle of any kind that I bought brand stinking new. Every thing else has been used.

You pay a premium to be the first owner. The salesman didn't help either.

The dealership isn’t getting interest over time, the finance company gets that.

The dealership gets a spiff from the finance company that’s tied to the loan they steer you toward.

F&I, parts and service and used car sales are dealer generally the largest profit centers.

I bought a brand new car once in my life and immediately found out how much depreciation there was, that was in the early 90's.

Used cars make more money. The used dealer buys them at the auction or sells them there. Wholesale prices.

A used car can have a mark up of $4000-$5000 and anywhere in between. A new car has about $700-$2000 in profit.

A lower, regular car salesman makes about $200 per new car sold. % of profit.

A used car salesman works at the same percentages. Having more mark up then a new car. It's a more lucrative section of car sales.

And you're right. The dealer gets a percentage off the extra interest points. Not the entire thing. It's still big money. Lots and lots of money.

Unless you choose very wisely, of course. It amazes me how some vehicles don't depreciate along a normal curve. Look what used Ford Raptors sell for; it's frequently within a few thousand of the MSRP when they were new. Most BMW models depreciate like a falling rock but some, as in the case of the Z8, never depreciate much and then start going back up in value.

Of course, if it's up to me to choose, I'll always pay too much for a vehicle that will lose value faster than everything else on the road. :(

I bought my bike 2 months old with 750 miles on it for $3k less then new, plus it had about $1k worth of extras on it.

I had some yuppy wannabe tell me that I shouldn't ride it so much if I want to keep the value in it, I said "Do I look like I need a garage ornament?"

Once upon a time, a sales manager was showing me an internal invoice of sorts. The vehicle was a 2005 door Dodge 1500.

Along the bottom was a bunch of numbers. They looked like jumbled stock numbers.

According to the guy at the time. The numbers were how much the truck was manufactured for. The sticker was something like $30-$32k. The cost to make the truck was about $15,500.

I don't know how accurate that is. It was paperwork I wasn't usually privy to. So according to what I saw. Dodge was making stuff for half the total price you see on the window sticker.

Hah. Get what you want and use it. That’s how I am with trucks. I don’t wheel with em, I work with them. I laugh at Street queen owners.

If a guys truck doesn’t have a mark in the bed he needs a Subaru.

It really cracks me up to see fully loaded 3/4 or 1 ton trucks in showroom condition, knowing that the most work they’ve ever done is hauling groceries. I used to work with a guy that bought a brand new GMC Denali HD Dually, and used it to drive back and forth to work. Then sit and complain about the fuel mileage of his rough riding $72k truck.

Lmao epic. My Nissan Titan ain’t worth a bottle of piss but mechanically it’s been good to me and I have never neglected her. But boy have I worked that truck. It’s just finally falling apart cosmetically. Time to find fresh blood aka new truck lol I’m going to downgrade to 2wd. The canyons seem to get pretty good mpg. I just can’t get away from driving for whoever I work for. My driving experience always seems to fallow me. I can’t shake having a truck they just make money, be it for me right now my hourly plus 50 cents a mile.

If there's anyone thinking of taking advantage of the no payments for a year deals.

What they don't tell you is you're still racking up interest and when the payments do kick in. They're payments on a year old ride. Resale will be crap because you're paying a year late with all the interest owed for the year you think was 'free'.

Mitsubishi burned the living hell out of people. Folks couldn't get rid of the cars and nobody wanted to buy them.

No payments for a year is rather evil.
