Reading the cliff notes that are free in an effort to convince myself to pay $20. Consider it a sample off a tray at HEB. First taste determines if you eat more.

I'm not knocking the book. I'm the type that wants the details up front.

I gotcha, and I’m a big sampler too. Interns of browsing though a book before I buy. In this case I went ahead and bought it. I did the 50/50 coin flip.

    1. It’s not widely circulated because the truth is often suppressed and it’s such a good book, all the available copies get bought up. It costs so much because it’s a really good book and thus hard to find. Demand drives price and availability.

    2. The book totally sucks and the reason it’s hard to find is because no one buys it. They “republished” in hopes current political climate would lure people into “the buy”, and priced it high so you’d think it’s a really great book because it costs so much.

    I chose option 1. :)

And I got it Saturday. Haven’t started reading yet. Have some time off and will take some time then to read it.

Did you get some cliff notes on it??

I guess the 50/50 could also mean what side of the gun debate you are on. I can imagine a gun control freak calling for book burnings after starting to read this book.

Yep. Part of that “truth suppression”. Same as the textbooks that our kids are using in public school, just different suppression tactics.

You can also get those that believe that since the story itself is fiction, the history of the gun culture must be fiction too.

No Sir. I haven't read the book. Last book on the subject was Atlas Shrugged.

I don't watch or read mainstream news. What info that comes from them. I read indirectly through a variety of alternative websites.

Lots of times. I self censor in passing it along. Due to it being a serious brush against the grain. Information that can shock a person.

I'm in the same camp as the author of the book in question.

While I don't want the book because it's a repetitive social view I already have. I strongly encourage others to read it.

Strangely, a book is more powerful at breaking the trance then information from the internet.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the read and you come out of it a different person with different knowledge.

I downloaded it from the links posted and read it on my iPad last weekend. It’s very informative with lots of true history mixed into the story, which makes for a very entertaining book.

I read the online version. I want to say that the author provided the link several years ago, but I could be wrong about that.

Being fiction, some things in the book are a real stretch. I can't imagine members of the government reacting in quite the way portrayed. However, the book is fairly well written and it maintains a lot of action from start to finish. It is easily the most pro-2A book ever written.

If you ever saw the movie, "Red Dawn" (the original one), then you might understand how a story could be somewhat unbelievable and yet interesting and with some believable parts. I would say that most of the people who hang out on here would like it, and I did.

I asked him once, many years ago, and back then he was cool with the ebook version being spread around

I think, as with most works of ‘fiction’, the reader has to kinda suspend their straight and narrow legalistic approach to reality. I think what concerns most of us here (on a gun forum) is, the continuously narrowing gap between what’s presented as “fiction” and what we know the government is capable of.

Are those links still out there?
The link I posted to the PDF file still works (see post #12); I believe that comes from either the publisher or his distributor - so I expect it’s a link that meets their approval. (It’s the same one I used several years ago; so it’s been around awhile).

    No, it's a scan.

I replied to a online ad many years ago for a HS Precision stock for an XP-100. Bought the stock from it turns out to be John Ross. He threw in a pdf copy of his book along with the stock. Still have both; the stock went on a custom XP-100, the book I never read. From what I've read here need to fix that.
