Welcome. Moved here from the sportsman's paradise myself a while back. A lot of the hype is just that, hype. The brisket is legit though. At least you're already use to the humidity.

Welcome! I am from the New Orleans area originally myself. Mereaux and then Pearl River(northshore) before moving to Texas. The only freedom I am aware we do not have here is constitutional carry.

Cool deal, lived on southshore and northshore myself. Do you know how long my LA CCW is good far once I become a TX resident ?

Man, I am really not sure. You should check with whoever issues the Louisiana CCW. Get your Texas one rolling as soon as you can.

@jrr14 - you are in a permit pickle unless LA provides permit holders some coverage if they move. LA does not "issue" non resident permits. So, proceed with caution and get your TX permit started yesterday.

Doesn't answer your question, but I do know that LA allows you to have a CCL from another state while holding a LA CCW. And, Texas and Louisiana definitely have reciprocity for concealed carry, just be aware of the difference in the laws as you must abide by the laws of the State you're in. Example: LA has some specific things you must do when stopped that are not required in TX.

Biggest problem you might have is with TX license plates when going back to Louisiana ... some LEO's in LA will give a TX plate a ticket just for batting your eyes when passing through ...

Welcome to Texas! I did high school in Reverse LA and LSU 1984. Then came to Texas.

Could it be they are tired of being flooded?
Dont sound like our new pal is tired of getting smited by water in the least. Good point. Hope he aint aiming to import any of that Nawleans hoodoo devil worship into Gods Country. We do not need any extra smiting. Thanks anyway.
