My wife and I have purchased 50 acres near Clarksville. Looking at the laws for posting signs the property and using purple spray paint on trees along the property line. Does anyone know how far apart is recommended for the signs? It looks like the law talks about the purple vertical markings being 100 - 1000 feet apart.

Also, if you have road frontage, keep them close there.
If you have a property line with a neighbor, less to worry about there. Most folks stay on their side of the fence.

Thank you. Heavily wooded property on three sides and a small barely paved road along the other.

Assuming the land is vacant, you may want to put up a couple of strategically located signs along the road side that says, “Under video surveillance” (whether or not it’s true). I also (bold) printed off a couple of signs, plastic laminated them, saying something about hidden trail cameras used to prosecute trespassers. (Things that aren’t nailed down WILL walk off!).

I used a ladder to put the “No Trespassing / Keep Out” signs up high enough so they can’t be easily reached from ground level. (Also had to clear some tall Johnson grass in the summer so they can be seen from the road).

BTW, congratulations on the fifty acre purchase!

    Helotes!
I’ve always found it more effective to hang bodies. Really let’s people know you mean business. It also cuts down on problems with a “language barrier.”

I have definitely seen coyotes hanging on fences in west Texas. Same concept.

I have to ask, did you "take the last train to Clarksville"?
Obvious question. Have not looked into rail travel options, but there is a railroad in town. Our property is a good 20 minutes out of . Population 3285 as of the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Red River County. Very close to Oklahoma.
