New member here, Hi from South Carolina. Ar15.com was nazi and wouldnt let me register with my email.

Im not sure if this is the right location for this. but I was curious if any one knew the legalities of machining your own ar15 buffer tube adaptor for an actual pistol like a 1911 or a Sig type handgun for example. Im sure you cant go out and make your own braces. but can you utilize existing braces on uncommon pistol builds with braces using an ar15 buffer tube adaptor, kindof like the ones made for Ak pistol trunions except it would be longer like the backhalf of a b&t USW. to make a compact pistol with a brace part_2048x.jpg

would it be illegal to make this at home? technically it would be just an adaptor by itself, a 5, 6inch long piece that does nothing on its own without other parts.

Delete if this is not the right location, just trying to gather information for a pistol build, this may be dumb, i havnt made up my mind yet.

You'll have to send in the pistol and the brace for a review. So, where will the slide go?

Google Micro Roni for an example of what you describe.

The part i want to make is just an attachment to a handgun grip or frame that has a female thread part that accepts a buffer tube. its not really a part defined by anything.

similar to what endo tactical makes for a glock, its not a brace, its not a stock, its just a way to put a brace on. I know the internet isnt the greatest of law advice but there are a lot of knowledgable people out there that know more than I.

endo only makes the round piece, they dont make the brace. accepts any ar15 buffer tube. legal to make at home? did they need atf approval to sell these?
