Melted my 2.5gal bucket of wheel weights plus another 1 gallon antifreeze jug full my dad gave me. I got 50 muffins at a total of 82 pounds.

After I pour in the tins I start the next pot. After a few minutes the ingots are solidified and pop right out when I flip the tins.

The lead has never stuck to the muffin pans...
My wife did notice the taste was different though, after I used them and she then made cornbread..

Not dying is always good. But if you keep calling her the sammich maker you might not be so lucky. And why is your brass on the floor?

She doesn't mind but she corrects me and says she's the dinner maker and I'm the cereal fixer.

Brass is on the floor because the large flat rate boxes it shipped in are falling the hell apart! From LaVernia to my long gone warehouse to my storage place to my loading closet!

Appreciate the info on the melting / casting. I have all the stuff, just need to learn how to do it. I am listening and reading.....

    Keep it coming.

If I fill the muffin tins all the way to the top then the muffins don't quite squeeze in my Lee 10# pot but if I fill them about 2/3 to 3/4 of the way then the muffins fit into the pot down the side of the valve rod. The larger ones still fit but they stick up out of the pit a little where the littler ones just plop down.

Because of this I've though it would be nice to have one of those 1# rectangular ingot molds just so they would fit better. I almost bought a cast iron corn cob shaped mold at the thrift store once but decided I could deal with the muffins just fine. And, to be honest, I'd be happier with the $2 the. The mold because I'm cheap on some stuff.

I bought some of the ingot lead bars. Seems like they will fit nicely into the melter.

I guess what I have is foundry lead, bought off castboolits.com, back when I had much higher goals for my free time.

Now I've got roughly 180#s of ready to melt lead. My buddy offered me the use of his casting setup and I may take him up on it.

Time to go back and watch some of those vids again.

And I finally finished decapping my final box of 762 brass. I should have it all pin tumbled this week then get to decide whether to buy another giraud triway or another drill powered cutter or impose on my friend who offered his Dillon setup.
