Not much of a machine but it will get you by around the house. Its one of those "everybody has one" machines. We have one at the shop (city) and its ok for a trailer ramp and the like. We also have a Bobcat for the heavier stuff.

I have a Miller AB/P330 at home sooooo.

Welding is a bit of an Art form. I to will defer to Easy for the latest and greatest that will suit your needs.

Don't have any experience with that one but bought a Lincoln wire fed from HD and it does everything I need it to. Had it 12+ years and seldom use it but it works when I need it to.

I've used bigger Millers & Lincolns over the years can't go wrong with either brand. As for the one in the link it's a little small for bigger jobs but for around the house it would probably get you by. You can also consider the next model up that does AC & DC. It will help with burn out of thinner metals & arc blowout when pushing a puddle.

You can also look around for a used bigger older model that could handle what ever you throw at.

Its what every kid in ag class in Texas learned to weld on. I built a cattle trailer with it for my ag welding project. Used it for lots of stuff. I am no pro, but its a good stick welder. I almost bought one last week.

I will add that the leads are going to be really short. I planned to buy different leads from the welding shop for it.

Will be good for smaller projects and learning with (if you are new to welding)......I have a Hobart Stickmate LX 235 AC/160 DC but for most projects I use a Miller Synchrowave 250 TIG

I bought a engine driven Hobart stick welder to do bigger outdoor projects
Its nice having the generator plugs to run grinders or whatever else I need

For inside shop, I run a 140 amp Hobart mig machine

The wire feed welders frighten me. I know not how they work....

This will be my first welder. Been thinking about building the kids a pipe junglejim and end posts for their zipline.

Any one running this one? $300 bones isn't a bad price.

I have a #6 copper 240v outlet in my garage.
Duty cycle isn't listed. Found this that says it's either 15% or 20%... https://m.lincolnelectric.com/assets/global/Products/K1170/e230.pdf

Better than the ~10% of the Harbor Freight units, but something to keep in mind

Now THATS a nice machine right there.

    They work very well...:green:

Real ones are nice. No flux and a gas enclosure like a TIG welder. The little cheapies have a flux core wire. Kinda like stick welding with a squirt gun. They aint bad in a pinch.

I guess this would be helpful if the wife decided to start welding a little metal yard art? It's pretty thin....

Kinda your call. Look up the one I mentioned. Miller AB/P 330 Old school machine that will never burn out. Tig for racecars, stick capable for turn-and-burn. Used ones run 700-1000. Let me know if you want mine.

I love my wire welder for anything up to 1/4” I can do it in a single pass. If I pre heat, I can do 1/4” no problem, the flux core wire penetrates better than solid core but isn’t as pretty but I can use it outside in windy conditions

Those 140 amp machines run on a 20 amp 120 AC
    No special wiring needed.

    Crap... that's a factor I didn't consider.
