    Gunz are icky.
Tell me more about this knife. Is it heavy? Removable pocket clip so I can carry in the pocket?

I'm thinking I may try one. Should I buy an extra set of springs with it, or do they last a good while?

    Heavy? I don't think so.
Yes it has a pocket clip.
Come in several different blade designs. Serrated, non-serrated, dagger shape, drop point, etc.
Several different handle and blade colors. Black, silver, tan, etc.
The swing open is kinda clunky but its positive.
Has a lock to lock blade open or closed.
I'd buy an extra spring or two. They're cheap.
Its a decent knife but I have no idea what they're selling for these days.

The most expensive knife I ever bought (almost $200)...I gave away.

I was half in the bag and the guy just did a great job on my A.C. so as a tip I gave him my knife, which was only a month old and I'd never used to cut a single thing.......

My every day carry is a $20.00 Kershaw that does yeoman service and is a breeze to sharpen.

    Middle of no where
I've ran $20-$50 Gerbers & Bucks for years...only issue is they get misplaced from time to time.
My EDC for the last 2 years has been a Kershaw Ken Onion made from S30V steel.

    . . . My requirements for a pocket knife include one-hand operation. . . .

Mine too. The problem is that I'm left handed, so liner locks and frame locks just don't work for me. For that reason, I chose Benchmade knives because they are completely ambidextrous. I can pull it out of my pocket, open it, close it and clip it back in my pocket, all with one hand.

I don't baby mine. I carry a Mini-Grip during the week, and a full size Griptillian on the weekends for working around the farm. They are tools and help me get my work done. If I break one, I'll replace it.

    In the woods...
I've never bought a knife at a truck stop or gas station. But, I do remember buying one at a hardware store back in the day when they had the knife case on display.

HEY! Don't be calling my EDC knife a POS!!! (mine's held up very well too)

    Beat me to it.

I have three and use them all. Springs still work, they are all worn and scratched up, but keep a decent edge and take all the punishment I can give them.

Only problem I've had is the clip gets cattywompus. I cannot get that thing back in tight.

Gerber Paraframe. One handed, weighs nothing, tight, hard blade. Had it long enough the serrations are gone. Pryed with it, screwdrivered with it etc, much less cut. Cut lead a lot and have cut sheet metal with it. Still goin, no nicks or snaps either.

I carry a mini-para everyday. I call it my "butthole knife" as one of it's main used is to cut the ass out of the deer I'm skinning.

I learned that technique from a guide to avoid having to split the pelvis. I've since cut the ass out of many a deer over the years. Do it first, then gut normally. You can pull the poop shoot out with the rest of the innards.

Thank you. Historically, I've done much more lurking than posting. I took off 10 days at Christmas time, and wound up buying 5 guns. :banana:I know that may be a slow day for some of you guys, but that's a real buying spree for me. So, I decided to get a little more active here and try to get to know some folks that share the passion.

I don't know that it qualifies as a POS knife but I had one of the Glock fixed blade knives (~$20 used at a show) that my son lost walking on a ranch road. He still had the sheath, sans knife! This was at least 10 years back

I saw it lying in the mud having been driven over whilst rusting away for perhaps a year. Or Two.
It has no more bluing and to call the rusted surface a "patina" would be far overgenerous.

I found the scabbard in an old truck box and got that knife sharpener guy at the Dripping Springs gun show to put a new edge on it.

It hangs in it's scabbard on a peg hook in my garage and not a week goes buy that I don't use and abuse it in some way!!!
A rusty POS with a personal history that holds a fair edge. It'll outlast me.
