A wall helps - it helps a lot. Trump never has advocated for ONLY a wall. He has always said a wall in conjunction with surveillance, sensors, drones, cameras, increased manpower, etc., along our southern border is what will be needed to ‘secure’ the border. The wall is just one component - an important and significant component - but just one component in a layered approach to border security.

If Trump were to present a comprehensive border plan at 9AM tomorrow and huge improvements in our present border wall were but 25% of his solution I think middle America would be profoundly proud, content and relieved.
It would pass and our nation would be whole.

He does have a comprehensive border plan, maybe you missed it. Also, who said the wall would be a stand alone measure? The plan has always been to combine components to secure the border.

Unfortunately, IF President Trump had the PERFECT border security plan, the LEFTIST MORONS of the DIMocRATS Party would oppose it, as they care ONLY about $$$$$$$$$$ & more personal POWER.
(There is NO perfect plan as all plans have flaws because plans are made by people & people are highly imperfect.)

The DIMs care NOTHING for ordinary people like the members of this forum & wouldn't spit on "bitter clingers from flyover country", if we all caught on fire.
In point of fact, internal DIMocRAT Party memos say that we people, who don't agree in every detail with their policies are "- - - - - intellectually, socially & culturally inferior to progressive people like us."

Further, "Pelosi, Schumer & company" are well aware that if the border wall/barrier/fence is built within the next year that the DIMs are FINISHED in the General Election of 2020 & perhaps for the elections to follow. = FACT.

Pelosi and the Left are against anything Trump wants to accomplish. Any and everything.

If Trump came out against cancer those asshats would start selling cigarettes.

This isn't about a wall. It's about a fight.

That being said, we already have border agents, night vision cameras, and many other systems in place to combat illegal immigration. The biggest component we are missing is an actual physical barrier to ease the pressure off the other systems.

The wall isn't a cure all. We all know that. But it is a start. The Dems don't want a start. If they do, they are finished because they would be admitting they are lying.

You have to start somewhere. Keeping the riff-raff out is a good start to cleaning up the mess.

Some GOP legislators may be unhappy with Trump but I'm hoping two or three times that many Dem leaders are disenfranchesid with Pelosi!!!

Good and I hope the unneeded (read way over surplus) government employees migrate to jobs in the private sector.

A number of years back, a girlfriend (I was single at the time) got a job with the IRS.

She told me over and over what a bunch of unnecessary slackers they were...They mostly joked and fooled around throughout the day as there were so many unnecessary hired as to make the job a joke......

I hope the shutdown goes on for a long time and these folks gravitate to greener pastures where they're labor is needed........not sucking up tax dollars just by being governmental (unnecessary) job holders.....
