Speaking of Molyneux, I listened to his comparison to the way society is today and the fall of the Roman Empire a couple days ago, a lot of comparison there.

I'm almost positive the Roman Empire fell more than a couple days ago :P

Also, anytime somebody compares this Republic that has barely started to find its feet to the Roman Empire, I can't help but dismiss his opinion as dramatic handwringing.

Sorry about that, I meant I listened to it a couple days ago. BTW Stefan Molyneux has a masters in history, if that means anything.

Victor Davis Hanson has a PHD in History and teaches, researches, and is active in the political discourse.

He’s hit or miss, sometimes and I’m a belieber that if you don’t understand history, your doomed to repeat it.

I’m not very familiar with the Canadians, Molyneaux or Rogan.

    —break break—

I’m kind of curious how much of today’s socialist/communist rhetoric is based in lectures of academic hippies trying to figure out if they should hang on to the hold or grab on to the new.

Molyneux's take on it is rather lengthy, but he made a lot of good points.

A lot of similarities to western civilization as a whole.

As there should be by an academic selling a theory. The challenge is the US is closer to a representative republic than the Roman Empire was. Now, that really doesn’t mean a whole lot to most people, but the devil is in the details.

Dill sold the same in 1899. Here’s a summary of a review published in the Cambridge Press in 1900.

    https://www.cambridge.org/core/jour...ce-8s-qd-net/0591BD999C3FD9AF04D11863E756366E

Without writing a dissertation, our founders and early leaders learned from many of these same stories and embodies them in the early amendments.

That, excepting prohibition, we haven’t had an amendment to the constitution in a century is telling. Neither the public, the states, nor the federal government has seen fit to massage the core foundation of our nation.

I’m more concerned about judicial interpretation, but in the grand scheme, it’s generally extended protections (except on 2A). Fundamentally, that’s a good thing.

Populism for any particular economic system is exactly that, a popularity contest. Protections exist for gross changes, with the expectation that our 50 laboratories aren’t homologous and wide latitude is allowed, with the knowledge that the 50 states have a certain independence that has to be recognized.

The real challenge is in allowing the free movement internally among the states with no checks on political participation. This is because theoretically, one or several states could enact policies that result in citizens, over time gaining an undue influence through emigration to other states. This is why the 6M people annually leaving places like CA and resettling on places like here is unsettling and why state politics is more important over the long term than local politics.

The devil is in the court system and the their modern day interpretation on Constitutional law. In the end, the Supreme Court will be the deciding judgment on our demise or survival of our Republic. The people are what strengthen that Constitutional court system. The FED Reserve continues to control the flow of money in our system without check, so I suppose our Congress will have a role in that but at this point they aren't.

We haven't seen any serious calls for an audit to the FED. Any serious calls for an audit of Fort Knox and the gold....why, they're scared of the exposed results.

I had that faith 10 years ago.

Several times in the past I had thought about using a straight razor. I have never shaved myself with one, but the few times I went to a barber for a shave they used one. I remember how nice my face felt afterwards and the fact that I didn't need to shave for a few days after made me think I should. I have a Gillette Fusion, but after their stance I now have now really gotten serious about switching. The more I have been researching, the more I really want one, kinda like buying a new knife. I have used double edge razors, but never really cared for them. So, in about a week from now, bye bye disposable razors.

My buddy posted a pic yesterday on his wall. Track Girls in one piece tight fitting body suits with Gillette imprinted on their back side. Pretty sure it was not photo-shopped. I xtated they could sell more razors that way.

The Fusion works pretty well but, like you say, it's gotta go when I run out of blades.
WalMart have there own in house version of it now, way cheaper. Not tried it yet.

I tried this WM brand razors but they sucked. They didn't shave as good as the Mach 3 Turbo blades.

I think I would like to do away with disposables altogether. I've been doing a lot of research, and although it will take some practice (hopefully without too many wounds), I want to have that feeling I got when I had gone to the barber. I can't remember having a closer shave. Gillette just pushed me towards that. Who knows, maybe I'll start collecting razors, there are some beautiful blades out there.

You don't really need any more than this, and even the cream is superfluous if you shave right after a shower.
So much cheaper than disposables, and a much better shave:
