Well I have 6 caliber that I feel are still used to a degree to this day compared to others. forgive me if miss the one you like. I feel these are the most common in my opinion. what is your favorite?

These are the ballistics of the calibers I have selected, feel free to suggest your calibers if you have the ballistics.

It’s a close race for me between the 30.06 and the 6.5x55 (developed in 1891)

For shooting target, I’ll take the Swede all day long, much less punishment. It’s a real joy to shoot my old Mauser.

A 140gn 6.5 projectile will go 2,651 fps and make 2185 ftlb of energy. Custom loads with modern powder and projectiles can do better.

The 30.06 though, is more than adequate for hunting any game in North America. It’s legendary.

I do like the 303 British but my preference is it's ballistic twin, the .30 US (AKA 30/40 Krag).

But for practical purposes, the 30-06 rules for the rifle and the 45 ACP for the autoloading handgun.

Really though, there are so many good one - yes, the 6.5 Swede is excellent... as-is the 45-70 in a different way. And 45 Colt? How could you not include it? And both the 7 and 8mm Mausers.... and and and

I didn't include 45 colt bc it's used in both rifles and revolvers and I was trying to keep it kinda strictly rifle calibers

Damn. Rifle only? You didn't specify that. Got to go with the .30-30. Pistols, .45 ball. Accurate, fun to shoot and packs a wallop.
