Copied original VHS tape, circa 1989. House was abandoned and ready to be demolished. They let us shoot it up, blow it up, then set charges to burn it down. Practicing explosive entries for half a day.

I had questioned previously about body cams on the entry team as I had never seen it stated.
Arthole just stated "they were not wearing body cameras, but the support team outside were."

    WTF?!
Pretty much only patrol wears body cameras. I'm certain that's about to change now.

Search for his last post and read the thread. It was really heated. It looks to me like he got fed up and just rage-quit the forum. I could be completely wrong about that, of course, and if anyone knows him personally and has a more correct story to substitute for my almost-baseless hypothesis, I'd love to hear it.

I do know there was no ban but for whatever reason he's simply not visited TGT in over a year.
TXI? Is that short for something? I didn’t find that username.

And what would be the reason for that?
    Money...supposedly.

Most uniformed officers were supposed to be issued BWC's. The city didn't have enough money to issue a camera to each officer, so they issued a set to each station. You check out a camera and turn it in at the end of the shift. Investigators, detectives, most people that work in plain clothes aren't required to wear a BWC under the current rules.

The undercover guys definitely didn't wear them even when running warrants. That's all about to change now. The cameras are junk BTW, another low bid city item. The batteries don't last the entire shift, buts that's another issue.

    Texas investigator iirc
    His username is "txinvestigator".

He was sufficiently tough in his approach to conversation that he could be off-putting...and that's putting it nicely. However, he never pulled talking points out of his butt. Even people who found him infuriating had to admit that 99% of the time he was intellectually honest and 100% of the time he brought verifiable facts to any argument. It was possible to have philosophical differences of opinion with him and argue to a mutual and courteous "We'll just have to agree to disagree" but I don't think I ever saw anyone outright win an argument with him. He was that good.

It didn't matter if you didn't like his personal style; you'd still respect the guy.

IMO, this thread would have been 1000% better if he were contributing. My PS a few posts back merely reflected that opinion.

I did a few times by presenting information that he couldn't repudiate. Then, he would never respond to the thread again. Lol.

He was one of my favorite posters and I learned a lot from him in the beginning. When I came back to the forum I was disappointed to find him and some others (Tejano Scott, etc) replaced by Fudds.

You are correct. Thank you for jogging my memory. I remember him dropping out of some threads when things didn't go his way but I did not remember the specifics of who was talking at the time.

Whether you win or lose, though, it's awfully nice to remember a time when arguments were intellectually honest throwdowns of facts vs. facts, isn't it?

I have successfully engaged in debates with him on some of the finer points of the law when discussing the some of the more ambiguous points of the Texas Occupations Code. Sometimes contentiously, lol.

When it came to presenting facts on the Government Code and Texas Penal Code he was only very rarely wrong.

If you are going to challenge him, have your facts ready, have back ups to those facts, and have pertinent case law to back those up.
    He wil.

There will be a flood of appeals on any case the officer was involved with......

With all his past, it difficult not to believe other officers knew or were suspicious but protected him.....Public perception of this will not "just go away".....

Integrity is always doing the "right " thing even when no one is looking.........
