Just happened upon this site while looking for a site with like-minded folks. Originally from NYC, but left to serve my Country at age 17, and never looked back. Picked "God's Country" - Texas to retire from the AF. Hope to learn a lot while sharing from my limited experience!

    Howdy.

Retired USAF in 2016. Native, in the Boerne area.
What did you do in the AF (AFSC)? I originally entered as a 316X3 (Instrumentation & Telemetry Specialist), but as the job specialties changed, I retired as Wide Band Satellite Comm. (Ret in '05)

    San Antonio!
Sounds familiar, I was stationed here after "visiting" twice (once for BMTS in 1981 and the second time for AFROTC Field Training in 1987). Wasn't too thrilled at first as I just had four great years at Ramstein, but left to go to SHAPE and when retirement rolled around, San Antonio was the best Stateside assignment we had. Retired in 2006 but still work on Lackland as a contractor.

If you have any questions about the area, retirement, post-military employment, etc.; feel free to drop me a line!

    Cheers! M2

Welcome aboard, I was an Instrumentation guy for NGC on the B-2, we may have crossed paths at some time.

    Dennis
Yes Dennis, we may have. I was TDY and stationed at Edwards AFB, where a lot of testing went on with many different flight platforms, to include the B2. I also worked at the AF Test Pilot School where I was able to work on quite a few "special" AC, to include an F-16 (Israeli) in-flight simulator. Nice to meet you all!
