I have only been a member a short time. I don't know that this is the place to bring this up but here goes.
Many here already know that I am an avid collector and some say a hoarder of sorts. Actually it is an obsession. I have spent considerable time and money building my collections. Mostly guns but other things too but I will limit this to just the guns.
When I do find a piece that is high on my "want" list and finally get my hands on one. I do like to share and show my finds. I like to discuss the particular item and offer discussion to anyone interested.
I have belonged to other forums where this has been a problem to some members and I have been banned from their sites with considerable condemnation.
This gets a little old and makes me just a little "gun shy" about sharing some things.
I have acquired several rare and exclusive historic arms that I am proud to have in my personal collections. I do not want my pride of these to be source of bragging or being superior, just to show and share. My collection, as some here know is on the large scale but the individual pieces are for learning and anyone to look at.
    Thanks for listening..... John

I wouldn't pay any mind to those types of people. They're just jealous, and they're unfortunately trying to make their problem your problem. I don't think you'll have those kinds of issues here. You have a wonderful collection, and I enjoy getting to see bits and pieces of it.

Hell yeah!!! Post up the pics and tell us about them. Especially some of the old stuff.
Some of wish we could afford the time and money for what you have and are understandably a little jealous. But we still like seeing and talking about them though. Besides, even though we don't have them ourselves, seeing yours brings back some very nice memories of long ago.

    Gunz are icky.
    Envy is what it is.
You’ll find it on every forum. From beekeeping to guns to motorcycles to fishing to whatever.
Don’t let it get to you.
Personally I very much enjoy seeng others choices and collections. Historical arms are a particular favorite.

People get pissed because you posted pics of history? That is just plain ignorance. People get angry because you posted about a personal find? As stated above, that is envy and jealousy. And probably more than just a bit of ignorance. Nobody needs that kind of negativity in life. Post up the hard to finds and the never founds. Some of us might just be able to add something to the list we didn't know we needed.

    Yeah,

We get pissed off at each other here but there is usually a legitimate reason.

Posting pictures of an awesome collection or a brag thread about finding an amazing deal on something amazing may get you a joking photo of a middle finger( Moonpie gets them frequently:) )
but no one here will get shitty with you over it.

We save that for BOS, Guns stolen from your vehicle, and blind reverent support for the NRA.
    ;)

Banned from gun forums for discussing guns? Well I've heard stranger things.

Hell, Charles Cotton was banning people hand over fist for supporting open carry on texaschlforums.
I guess the C in their name should be capitalized, bolded and Italicised?
    TexasChlforums ?

And to the OP, I wouldn't remain on a forum where I saw that happening and wasn't dealt with by the staff.

Seriously?? BANNED??? I'm looking forward to seeing more of your posts. I'm always feeling like I know so little about all the corners of the gun world, and love it when people post not only what they have but explain a bit about its origins, background, history, etc.

Like Moonpie said, envy can bring out the worst in people. Although I may covet certain things, I certainly wouldn't disdain people for what they have. I, like many here, would love to see what you have. To me it could be inspiration to strive for something I really like. Post away!

Like the others, I definitely enjoy seeing the firearms you post.
While you have a collection of amazing firearms, I'm not jealous, just happy I don't have that many to clean!

It does make a daunting task. But it is like being able to fondle many beautiful "artifacts" and it takes a regular schedule. Most of them are in closed cabinets so it isn't terrible. I have some students that I let volunteer to help with certain items being covered. I collect alot of other things also. Antique books, bottles, pottery, militaria. coins and documents/autographs too.
