I just bought a Micro 9 with the Hogue grips and Truglo TFX sights, but I don't know if I want to use the Hogue grips. I want to buy a good set of aggressive G10 grips and I'm pretty sure they will be thinner. I'll pick the gun up in a few days when I get home.TIA

Will I need to buy shorter grip screws?

I want black screws, but would they need to be stainless to put into the aluminum frame?

Where can I find black stainless screws?

Stock picture of gun for reference.

I saw those and wondered if I needed stainless, but now that I think about it, all micro 9s have aluminum frames and if Kimber sells black screws for it, they must be OK. Thanks.

Are shorter screws necessary, or can I use my original screws from the Hogue grips for now?

Beats me, I've got rosewood grips on mine. Stock photo from their site:

I'm starting to second guess getting the Two Tone. The stainless is pretty, but I've already paid for it and the store ordered it from Kimber for me. I bought a couple of 7 round magazines for $25 each. Your gun is beautiful.

It's so purty! Also, it was meant for the wife, but she found the recoil and the trigger pull a bit stout, LOL. So it wandered over into my pile. She's got an even prettier Sig 938 now and shoots it just fine. But only with the six rounders. On the Sig the seven round mags tend to fall out when shooting. Which is not a problem with Micro 9. To which I also added the Kimber factory night sights. It shoots where you look and that's all one can ask for, right?

Be sure you get the right length screws for thinner grips as you have said. If they are too long using a thinner grip the can push the magazine over causing you some grief with feeding the ammo into the barrel. I prefer the Hogue wraparounds with the palm swells and finger grooves. More to hang onto. Just my personal preference. For some reason, the P328 and Kimber 238 are pretty sweet shooting pistols with recoil that is negligible to me.

I picked her up today. Everything seems to work right. I bought a couple of Kimber 7 round magazines to go with the 7 rounder that came with the gun. The mags I bought don't go in as easily. I have to slap the bottom of the mag to make it click. I'll wait until after my first range trip to see how everything works before complaining.

My wife is eying my new aquisition. I didn't realize how small it is until I compared it to my Kahr CW-9.

Factory tritium sights, leather holster by Mitch Rosen. And if it REALLY needs to be concealed, a Sticky(r) pocket holster.

Yup my wife has the First P238 I purchased. Luckily Academy had a special run of them made for Academy for $479.00. So now I have my own once again.

No pictures. It looks like someone jammed the slide stop into the side of the slide. There’s a circular mark and it has been there long enough to begin rusting.

I think pictures can help. There’s a lot of knowledge in this forum.

Side note: this may be more related to oem design than you think cause kimber does have a reputation for parts wearing oddly. But I’m just spewing internet diarrhea without pics

I can't find the picture. I sent it off last Monday and it came back today. Everything seems to work perfectly. The barrel was replaced. It was dirty, so I know they test fired it quite a bit. I think the trigger may be a little lighter. I can't wait to shoot it.
