Your resources determines your ammo. For some price isn't an issue at all. I have a few but would like to keep it that way. If I had my way I would also keep some really good ones.

Eventually you have a "magazine" not an ammo closet/room.....

A magazine is also the name for an item or "place" within which ammunition or other explosive material is stored.

"Currency of the future" has always been my not-really-fecetious mantra.

Every month buy more than you've shot.

Sadly, a friend passed. He had a lot old collectable old military ammo.
Lots of sealed cases and tins.
His wife sold it and made enough to pay for a couple of years of their daughter's college education.
Like a nitrocellulose and brass 401(k).

I think you're at a point where you need me as a neighbor to help you with that burdensome storage. Got sears? I've got hosts :D.

I stopped counting a while back, I used to keep track.....now it's just in the, "allot" category.
Next month I'll be burning thru some, then bitching about cleaning guns! I'll be eventually moving out of the city & out to the country & the thought of moving the ammo & my african game mounts scares me.

What are opinions on quantities of ammo to have stored for each caliber? or each gun?
This is the best "loaded question" ever asked.
After loading so much this past winter, I lost count when my calculator burned out.
I'm now to the point I think I need an underground military type storage facility to hold it all.

Over the weekend @ the machine gun shoot I shot about half of what I took. With the exception of the 3 boxes of .410 I took for the 40mm 4X.410 hornets nest. Couldn't get the primers to seat in it.

Personally I keep 1000 rounds of target ammo and 200 rounds of defense ammo.

But it depends on a lot of things. How often you go to the range, how much you can afford. Some people have the financial ability to buy cases at a time. Some may only be able to afford a 50-100 pack at a time.
