What name were you using at the time?
I’ve had the same one since back before Alfgore invented the cyber highway...unless somebody stole it before I got there. It was some kinda rational looking gun chat group. Now whether it was this one wouldn’t bet my life on it. My memory ain’t as good as it used to be. Us seasoned citizens forget where we parked our car at Walmart sometimes

I believe the air force did have a requirement for a higher score than the other branches when i was looking into the navy in 1995. Is that still the same?
I believe in the late 80’s, the minimum ASVAB score for the Army and Marines was 31. The minimum for the Air Force and Navy was 43.

When I was in HS I took the ASVAB (while I was drunk) and made a high score. The Naval Academy offered me an appointment, but I had to study nuclear engineering.

Good thing I didn't take it. I can't do calculus, and that's pretty important for an engineer.

When I took the test in 73 it had questions like " boat, car, motorbike, apple. Which one does not belong? I took it humming the Sesame Street song. Became a cop because it was open to colorblind folks. That has since changed. No high scores to guard an effing airplane. Was going in on the buddy plan but my buddy failed the test. His Mom told me he fell on his head when he was young. I hope their standards are higher today.

We use them to shoot soldiers trying to sneak into our clubs, pools and golf courses...

Gene Hackman carried a 1911 in BAT21, and used AF golf course holes to navigate out after being shot down in Vietnam.

Germans made good stuff and still do.

I agree. The problem is their cars.

I’m not the brightest bulb on the block but I’m not exactly an idiot. I was out of gas and stopped at the gas station after driving home my first Porsche from the dealership and after an embarrassing 30 minutes sitting at the pump I had to call the sales rep to figure out how to open the gas cap cover. And jump starting the car? From the fuse panel. In the floorboard. WAY up under the dash.

After owning several Porsche’s, I realized that all the rockets, jets, and other wonder weapons they possessed in WW2 couldn’t have saved them from getting their asses kicked.

My wife bought a Porsche in 2014. The failures on that car could fill a book. She traded it less than a year later with no regrets. (except financial loss) but said that was worth it!

What kicked the German's asses in WWII was an inability to compete with the resources (tanks, bombers, soldiers, etc.) that the United States could bring to the war.

Had that be equal, there is a good chance that the outcome would have been different...

Actually, it was a Browning Hi-Power...

And note, the movie is a dramatization of rescue of Lt. Col. Iceal Hambleton.

I have yet to find anything that states what Hambleton actually carried. It could have been a M1911A1, but more likely it would have been a .38 Special revolver such as a M13 (S&W), a Colt Aircrewman, or something else...
