Back between jobs in the mid 80s I became a traveling insurance salesman. Spent a lot of time making baloney sandwiches in a no tell Motel room. The Kamp King had a big wide blade for cutting raw onions and spreading mustard..opening a beer..working on the car etc. lol.

I hope you're right. I haven't been able to find my Boker Kalishnakov for a couple of weeks.

That’s funny. I had a Boker Kalashnikov too, and I have no idea what happened to it. I have the faintest memory of giving it away to someone, but I have no idea who, or if it’s even a real memory or just my mind playing tricks on me to explain why I can’t find it in the usual places I keep my stuff.

Speaking of real jobs on this particular deal. Sick leave..vacation days..retirement etc. Not to imply not having any kinda job at all under the above mentioned scenario. I only turned into a total dead beat unemployed person at age 62. lol. Figgered out quick the only thing good about being retired is it beats working.

    You're damn lucky.
I've been layed off and rehired by two different companies 3 times each, and that's just those, there have been more, lol.

I worked at the same job for 13 1/2 years. Then new management started screwing with our checks (plus they banned guns). I walked out of that place and a few months later found the best job I ever had, then was laid of unexpectedly 6 months later. Thankfully I found another good job with a gun friendly company.

Only time I got fired was at a not-to-be-disclosed vet office in a not-to-be-name town. I had a job at that vet as part of the jobs program in HS. Told my boss I had final exams in December, and I would be a couple hours late. I was a hard worker, and he agreed it would not be problem.

I show up late, as I told him I would. He and his bi-polar ass comes at me while I'm shoveling horse manure. Cusses me up one side and down the other. I'm standing there holding a shovel, and thinking I could kill him and bury him before anyone knew what happened.

I had just become a Christian, and as soon as I thought it, I thought better of it. So I walked away from him, while he was still cussing me. Went into the office and told the ladies goodbye, and that I was quitting. He heard me say it, and screamed, "you can't quit! I'm firing you!" Then he walked out. The ladies told me I had made it longer than any other HS kid ever had (4 months). So technically I got fired.

Well, I told a crack head that I'd cover his shift on a drilling rig for two days. I regretted it. Otherwise, I'd have been 3 days between jobs back in 1980.
    Lol

Well as this seems to be true confessions time for getting fired happened to me once. I was the bell hop at the Ramada Inn at San Angelo when I was a freshman in College there in 69. They let me tend bar till a fireman aka the real bartender o got off work at 4 PM. The old yankee who run the place said customers don’t like to drink alone so if anybody looked lonesome we could drink a few free draw beers to cheer them up and be their pal. So one day these cute underage cheerleaders come in with their fellas. I told the floor service lady. Here let me check those ID cards. They showed what they had and I told the lady to bring them a beer. She did and about five mins later the liquor board boys showed up and gave them a ticket then the fireman showed up and they gave him a ticket even though it wasn’t his fault. The place got shut down for 10 days and I got fired. Wasn’t any great loss it only paid a buck an hour. It was a set up. Cute girls are nothing but trouble.
