555 Winchester Super X plenty of misfires

Hi,
I usually buy Remi Golden bulk packs AND CCI minimags to feed my various 22LRs. Walmart was out but had a couple 555 winchester boxes for a decent price.

Range Day 1:
I had so many light primer strikes it was kinda unreal. I decided to bring more of the collection the next day and figure if it’s ammo, magazine or weapon related.

Range Day 2:
Even with the tried and true Spike’s AR, 10-22, and Mark II, I still was getting these failures to fire at such a rate that I couldn’t run a small (10rnd) magazine without 1 or 2 stoppages.

Anyone else have trouble with Winchester white box bulk 22? Their centerfire offerings have always run well for me.

Haven’t had many issues but I have noticed that pretty much any of the bulk rimfire I’ve used over the years has had a bad run at one time or another. I stopped buying Golden Bullets for the reason you describe but have since heard of people having no issue.

I primarily shoot WWB or Federal. Neither have given me any trouble but it lasts a lot longer than it used to so I don’t buy it often.

I had a box that gave me a handful of failures. Seems like it was just the one box though of a few I have used.

Purchased it many years back and has been gone for a long time now so not related to any current issues.

Like YG stated, seems every once in a while I get a bad box of rimfire ammo. Next box will be fine.

I bought a brick of Winchester Super X 36gr HP in September 2014. Not bulk ammo, but in that special wooden box that Cabela's sells. 10 boxes of 50 rounds. They were awful. At the range I had at least 30% failures. I was getting a minimum of 3 failures in every 10 round mag. Everything from duds to failure to feed to under powered shots.

This was in my normally faithful and reliable 10/22. I struggled through 200 rounds on 3 different range trips and gave up on them. I like the box tho

So, today I thought of trying them in my lever gun and single six. One failure to fire in an hour shooting.

Anyone try Win M22 ? Supposedly meant for auto-loaders.

So far all of the ones I have used out of the box I opened have been fine. Fairly accurate and consistant too.

My 10-22 really likes the M-22 stuff. It's sort of cheaper ammo, but my guns like it.

I've had issues with the 555 box and the 333 box. Likely the same stuff. Didn't shoot that ammo from a revolver though.
