Sounds like a South Paw might need a DA only Sig 226. No decocker needed and they were selling them right the last we spoke of it. Some kind of yankee police trade ins. Can’t imagine it being any more strenuous than learning to shoot a DA six gun in the DA mode. Try this link. They may be all metal.

That link is for a Sig single-action-only P226. I own several quality single-action pistols; however, those are not my choice for carry (apologies in advance to the TGT single-action mafia

). I'm perfectly fine with DA/SA, but I prefer pistols that don't hand me a penalty for being left-handed. I like striker-fired too, but again, they rarely cause problems for lefties.

I've always detested the right-handedness of the Sigs. I've got a German P228, a W. German P226, and probably the only Sig Mosquito that works reliably all the time. But alas--none easily decocked by a lefty. . . .

I'm a lefty too and that's one of the things I love about the CZ SP-01 Tactical - decocking levers on both sides. My RAMI-BD has the lever on the left side only. But, realistically, it's not a problem because I can't imagine a situation in which I would be decocking it in a hurry. It's easy enough to reach over with my right hand and decock it.

I was merely responding to deemus' comment regarding that his favorite part of the Sig P226 was the decocking lever. I was not expressing any interest in purchasing any more Sigs. Just saying.

FWIW, I already own a couple CZs.

Sorry about the wrong link. It wasn’t the one I was hunting. I only found out a week or so ago they made DAO 226s and this might be the right place selling them cheap. .40 cal looks like.

Besides the X5s and P226 ST already mentioned, other SIG P226s with stainless steel frames are the SL, LDCs (Long Dust Cover), and competition model Sport Stocks and X6s.

Neither is cheap if you can find them for sale.

Thanks for the various choices. If my old Sig ever goes to gun heaven I will definitely tell the Warden to tell Santa I need another. Are the jack booted thug admin folks messing with my access to this place or is it happening to everybody? I don’t like to get paranoid without probable cause.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. At the moment the plan is to buy a SIG P226 Stainless Elite in 9mm sometime next month. If nothing major comes up and I get it in I will post some pictures up of it.

I am considering getting my first Sig pistol and I know that I want it to be the P226 in 9mm. It seems that most of them have an alloy frame. I prefer all steel but all I could find is the Elite that is this way. Am I missing another model or older model that is all steel or is the Elite the only one that's like this?

I'm even more fudder than most of you guys and have owned more than my share of "DA/SA" pistols but I can't help thinking that they're 'yesterday's guns' from an EDC standpoint - :marine:

Five of these are DA/SA :P
