Watched it last night. Holy cow! If it is only half true, I'm surprised they are still alive.

Don't watch it with young kids around.

Got drunk as a skunk with Vince Neil at a NAMM show when I was 19. Friendly enough guy, not much happening upstairs though.

My buddy growing up that lived across the street, his step aunt was married to Mick Mars aka Bob Deal before Motley Crue made it famous. The aunt & his cousin came & lived with my buddy for a while. Even went to school with Micks son Erik.
If you look on the back of the Dr feel good credits, theres a thank you credit to Erik Deal.

    EDIT ... just found this
Looks like they don't have contact ... says "estranged", & they wern't married, he's just the baby daddy.

    Family

    * Mars is the second of five children of Tina and Frank Deal.
    * Two children, Les Paul (1971) and Stormy (1973), with first wife Sharon.
    * One child (estranged), Erik (1976), with former girlfriend Marcia.
    * Married to Emi Canyon (1990-1994).
    * Older brother to Susie Deal.

The 80’s is....... embarrassing, to put it mildly.

It was one hell of ride.

Embarassing? Gotta disagree. Great decade for music. Had a lot of fun growing up in the 70s and 80s I feel sorry for the kids today. There are a lot more pressure on them from different angles and social media doesn't help. Thank God phone cameras and social media weren't around in the 80s, because I did some dumb chit back then. ;)

I have to agree with Leroy. The 80’s were fucking awesome. My leisure suit was embarrassing! I am SO glad we didn’t have all those phones & cameras around. I’d still be in jail.

crue rocked hard. They have some killer & iconic licks. I want to see this film.

Born in ‘80 so sure great music. Was still a lot of great gospel still around plus Alabama, George Strait, and others.

Hair bands and stuff, nah, I’ll pass.

I agree with the music being a positive factor. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 14 and had one of the best mentors on the planet. I grew up in Oak Cliff. My mother’s best friend was Martha Vaughn. Stevie & Jimmy Vaughn’s mother.

Without going into detail I had a front row seat to the music/entertainment industry. One of the reasons I went into the service was to escape the insanity and excesses of it all.

I work with two of Reese Wynans' (keyboardist for SRV) brothers. It's kinda funny how small this big ol' world is.

I was friends with Tommy's mom. My aunt sold her a house there in Bullhead City, AZ. Got to drive her to the Saints of LA concert in Vegas around 2008. Chilled out with them in Tommy's dressing room. That dude is a trip.

Not into that music.... but seeing them up close back stage was pretty awesome.

And the dang road crews work their butts off setting up the bands equipment. Pretty amazing they can do it show after show.

I’ve lost count of the backstage passes and parties and have seen enough dysfunction to write several books. It’s the little things that scar you, you just don’t know it at the time. Every time I see a cucumber in a grocery store I think back about my life’s experiences. No bs.

When you’re young, into music, making tons of money, hanging out with A-listers, getting more attention and more ass than a Walmart toilet seat, you can quickly go astray without a strong moral compass.

Did you get to watch this movie? Curious as to how close they got to portraying each character.

lol !!! Very true. I can't recall who it was, but I was inside one of the booths on the floor of the show where some vendors do those little standing room only gigs. Band finishes playing, and singer drops his drawers and makes the Shure SM58 disappear.

    A 58! That's impressive. Now had you said a 57, not so much. :p

I stumbled across this Friday night and got sucked in. Made me want to take a 3 hour shower. I have a hard time wrapping my head around that level of debauchery and as I get older, seeing stuff like this makes me wonder how much I contribute to it by buying or listening to their music.

I truly hope the Ozzy Osbourne scene wasn't based on a true story but I know it probably was, or worse.
