Michelle Obama's Chief of Staff is involved on behalf of Jizzie . . . I mean Jussie.

Remember that the Obama's have a LOT of stroke in Chicago. And the idea that the feds getting involved will solve anything is a joke. We've all learned just how corrupt the upper echelons of the FBI and DOJ are, and how entrenched the Deep State are in those entities. With a snap of his fingers or a sideways glance, Obama can shut down any investigation into Smollet's crimes.

The simple/correct answer: SOMEBODY GOT PAID.
(Chicago's government has been THROUGHLY CORRUPT for at least a century.)

Fwiw, when I was a SSA for HQDA in 1987, three of us were sent TDY to Chicago to bring back a violent criminal (who had "run home to Chicago") & arrived to discover that the criminal had been "released by accident" 2 days before our arrival from the Cook County Jail & nobody had been told that he was turned loose.
(When he was next "spotted", he was hiding out in Haiti & to my knowledge was never apprehended.)
I've wondered many times since, who GOT PAID & HOW MUCH to release a violent child molester.

    yours, satx

Like it or not, for good or bad, what the powers-that-be behind this likely payoff failed to realize was the power of social media ...
