Redneck engineering at it's finest. Hey! As long as it works and no one gets hurt, hold ma beer, & watch this!

    Crush, kill, mangle, maim, destroy.

That picture reminds me of my 1969 Ford van with a fiberglass bubble so you could stand up in it. The van had a built in bed, a TV, stereo, several fans and lights. That van was great at the beach and yes, the bed saw some action.

Me, the ex and 16 month old spent most of a winter in Golden Colorado in a camper that wasn't that nice. I kind of like it.

Way back in the 1970's, I had a big "beach truck", of the type then popular around the "Coastal Bend". One wouldn't believe the stuff I "pulled out" way down the beach. Some were in regular sedans, and we could never figure how they got that far past the "4WD Only" signs. I never charged anyone to "unstick" them, so I let the guys who were trying to pay for their trucks have the near-in ones. Back then, the Ranger Patrols were only every 12 hours and we had no cell phones. Sometimes a vehicle on US77 could be reached by C.B. radio. I covered the MMH & Spohn E D's before there were full time Emergency Docs, and saw some terrible injuries in those who chose to overnight far down the PINS beach. My mantra then was: "I'm going home for a hot shower and to sleep in an air-conditioned bed; see y'all again tomorrow." There was a "Firearms Forbidden" rule, but none of us regulars ever went unarmed. We routinely "surf-launched" before that was forbidden, too. On a cold Winter day, one would never see anyone else. Once, in a new Corvette, on the park road, I got a FEDERAL "speeding ticket" for going 45 in a 35 on a very cold January day when no-one else was out there. Thanks for the reminders! leVieux
