In another one of those "did I just read what I thought I read" incidents, a real piece of work in St. Louis beats his wife and threatens to kill her. He is jailed but can't afford to post bail, so the non profit Bail project posts his bail so he can go free. As soon as he is released, he promptly follows through on his threat and kills his wife. As if that isn't bad enough, read the quote below.

The Bail Project has operated in St. Louis since January 2018. Executive Director Robin Steinberg said the organization was "deeply saddened," but bail wasn't to blame for Johnson's deat

And yes, I can understand why they bailed him out because he looks like such a mild mannered and cultured individual.

You can't fix stupid. This one is about as stupid as it gets. Her family should sue the crap out of the non-profit that turned that animal back onto the streets.

    I can’t imagine why this non-profit exists.

But I sorta agree that the blame lies squarely with the killer.

Since bail was only $5k, it doesn’t sound like the courts believed he was a threat.

They just thought he was a poor disproportionatally charged black man that was basically good at heart till da man profiled him. An honest mistake and I doubt they will burn down the city like in Ferguson.

I can't get by why he was charged with a misdemeanor when he had previous assault and drug convictions. I would think if you were a twice convicted violent criminal and you punched your wife you would get more than a misdemeanor charge and $5,000 bail.
