Ironic that the "Standard American Diet", arguably responsible for an increase in both obesity/health issues is also correlated to an increase in longevity over the past 100 years? ... (although the correlation is a bit statistically sketchy with the latter, it is still touted).
Boils down to we ain't figured it all out yet ...
Soda is liquid candy. Once you see it for what it is it’s not nearly as appetizing.
True statement! When I was pretty broke a couple times, I was pretty lean, strong and toned. What’s for drink? Water. Supper? Pasta, cheese, beans, ground beef. Maybe fruit where I could. Milk. You got the essentials. None of this near ten dollar fast food stuff now. That’s the biggest reason I don’t do fast food much these days. You spend 7 to 10 bucks at a store and get food that is more like premium to your body where McDonald’s is the farm fuel. The welfare state is also partly to blame. Back in the day a poor person did not have the option to sit on his/her ass and eat donuts all day.
That sounds like crap....Interesting observation.
A good friend who’s a physician is involved in a study on the affects of childhood antibiotics and it’s affect of killing healthy gut flora. They’ve performed fecal transplants on obese people that were administered a regimen of antibiotics to kill all their gut flora and then inoculated with the gut flora of thin people. They lost weight.
Ditto ice cream. Nothing but cold, flavored, sugary butter.
It's a spurious correlation.

Ditto ice cream. Nothing but cold, flavored, sugary butter. Supposed to be a Sunday treat, and maybe a cup full at that. Not pounding down a pint every night.
