I've been mulling over buying a new Dillon Square Deal B.
The old one is so worn out as to be useless.
Still can't decide if I want to get it in 10mm or .38/357.
As those guys up there ^^^ pointed out, Dillon will rebuild it and put all the new upgrades on too.

Ordered a bunch of 6mm 105 gr bullets.
According to my calculations, I need 2 more pounds of powder and I can wear out a barrel.

So nobody touched my question about uniforming pockets. I only need to do this once, right? I have the tool in a drill and give it a zap about 3-4 times, backing off to clear chips. After the 3rd to 4th time they seem to stop grabbing material and sit squarely on the tool.

Does this sound right? Also, I'm assuming after all of the depths are uniformly cut then I can use the same too later for a quick scrape to remove fired primer residue and clean the pockets?

I'm new to this tool. Just trying to better control my brass hoping to transfer that to better groups.

This thread is INCREDIBLY motivating: I joined a few years ago, but in the last 2 weeks, I've started visiting the forum more, and this thread in particular.

First, after mowing one of our rent houses, I built a simply stand for an RCBS powder measure. I bought a 6.5 Grendel upper and am going to start load development, and since I didn't realize I need another shellplate for the 1050 to run 6.5G (it's the same shellplate as 7.62x39, which I also don't have) I was going to have to go back to my turret press to work up some loads, but hate running a powder measure on the turret or single stage presses...
    IMG_0531.jpeg

Then I remembered I bought a Chargemaster a few months back at an estate sale... so I put the stand and powder measure away :)

I use those gloves with the rubbery shit on the palm/fingers. Well, I just wear the one, like Michael Jackson but cooler.

I have a single glove(right)that a driver left on my dock after he rewrapped a skid he didn't like.

The case just spun in that so I broke out the spark plug wire pliers. But I'm not as cool as you. Or that other Michael.

Those gloves with the rubber coating work great for case prep. I have used the orange ones, and black ones and recently bought some with a blue coating. Have not tried the blue coating. They work great, but do come apart while working with them. As your fingers will testify to, anything is better than by bare hand.

FYI, the Harbor Freight black coated are kind of my favorite. But buy the multi-pack. Best $7 I've spent in a few weeks.

Lazy day.. looked at 70-some odd 300 win mag primed cases I bought last year- literally, I looked at them- then took a nap with our daughter's midget-useless-except-for-keeping-bald-heads-warm-dog.

Well, that makes me sound dumb... I shot a lot through it today but eventually my cheap ass Walmart tripod fell over in the middle of a string and I hit the wire. I didn't shoot the unit itself.

I've shot one, and my son shot another chronograph...we literally shot and destroyed them :)

Luckily I didn't do that. I just need to get a new rod to hold up the shade I think.

I was able to test 4 different 9mm loads in 2 pistols and 4 different 380 loads. Unfortunately I didn't get to my 45 or 223 loads which we're the whole reason I brought the thing anyway.

I also picked up 2# of 100v last night and loaded 8 test loads for the wife's 243. Took it out today and found a great load for it.

Ammo testing. Tested my handloaded 194 gr Lehigh Max Expansion bullets against three factory rounds to compare volume levels in a suppressed rifle.

An interesting fact... the supersonic barrier is not a sudden switch, or in other words the bullet does not get really noisy only when it crosses into mach territory. There is a considerable transonic region where the level of sound produced by the bullet rises very sharply. This graph illustrates this nicely. Remember dB is a logarithmic scale so this is an incredibly steep rise.

Even though my ammo was slower, about 900 fps or so, it was much quieter than ammo that was over 1050 fps, shot from the same gun, back-to-back, with the same suppressor. The 1050 fps ammo had almost a crack sound quality to it.

Check out this (long) article here:

New brass made for the most expensive rounds I’ve loaded to date. $7.75 ea for the first loading.

Hoping I don’t need to start over with load development and the groups just shrink a little bit.
