I put one of the compact sized pistols in my hand at NRAAM last year, and it truly felt better than my M11-A1. Not sure if that means anything, other than the fact that I'd like to put one through the paces.

    Out here by the lake!
A rare one you might find interesting is the Steyr GB.
    Very unique design.
Its one claim to fame is it lost out to the Glock when the Austrians wanted a new service pistol.

I like Steyr's but the GB pistol is not something to look at. A buddy bought one & it huge like a Desert Eagle but only a 9mm. Then price magazines for it!

The American made Rogak P-18 is about the same pistol. Hell I remember when they made them in Morton Grove, Il.

    I wouldn't touch a rogak with a 10 foot pole

    My point exactly!

The Steyr version is a good gun, and if you are looking for a range toy, you can find worse for the amount of money GB's go for.

The rogaks, while a copy, are a huge disservice to the original design. And as far as size goes, it's nowhere close to a desert eagle. It's just a tad shorter than a Beretta 92.

You do have a point about magazine costs, but we're not talking about a carry piece here

Stopped in Rifle Gear in Plano yesterday, and my love affair with the Desert Eagle 44Mag was rekindled. They have a gold one, the one I've wanted for a couple decades. Just a bit out of my price range.

All metal 9mm DA/SA pistols are my preference so over the last 2 years I have picked up a number of Beretta Model 92's, CZ-75's, S&W 5906's, EAA Witness, Jericho 941, and just recently a Sig P226 Enhanced Elite. Any suggestions on a good all metal 9mm DA/SA pistol that I should look into possibly acquiring?
    Sig P229 or Sig P239. That’s my 2 cents

I had a P239 for a few months on loan from a buddy to see if I liked it to buy. I didn't particularly like how it shot. Recoil was a bit weird from what I was used to and I didn't like the trigger at all. I had been shooting a PPQ up to that point. It was an accurate gun for sure, maybe just not for me

Beretta M9 / 92FS. Sweet pistol if you have large hands like me. Smooth shooter.
