Thought I would post some pictures I took many, many moons ago. No one ever see's them except me so I thought I would share them here. Keep in mind that this was probably eighteen years ago if not longer so the camera quality isn't that great.

Two very rare aircraft from the Richmond, Virginia aviation museum.

This is a Vultee V-1A, the only one in the world. Personally I think this aircraft should be given to the Smithsonian due to it's rarity.

The polish job on the Wright Cyclone is just amazing. They don't make them like that anymore!

    Out here by the lake!
When I lived in Des Plaines when ever we needed to go to Chicago we always made time to head
    to the museum.
Been in the Sub 3 times.
I guess it is possible my dad being a WWII vet said screw that Nazi shit! Remember going down to the coal mine. (dad was born in Coal City) I also remember the gun deck of an old wooden ship, but don't remember which museum.

The dioramas & lions of Tsavo are what made me want to hunt Africa @ the Field Museum.

The place is massive, that's just a tiny sample of what's there. It had only been open a short time when I visited and they didn't have all of the displays completed yet, I plan on going back next year. My sister lives in Charlottesville,VA so when I visit her again I'll be hitting all of the museums.

RedArmy, those are absolutely awesome pics. Thanks for sharing.

Here’s a bit of trivia. The Arado 234 was the last German aircraft to overfly Britain during WW2, in April 1945.

Thanks, it's a good thing the Germans were stopped before they could bring their technology to bear. Hitler ultimately held back the Luftwaffe from bringing these bombers out sooner, a mistake that worked to our advantage. By the time these new aircraft appeared it was already too late.

I've been digging through my old photos and will post up some more when I get a chance.

We had several chances to assassinate Hitler. But, it was figured that if Hitler was taken out his generals would take over and would make it a long, tough war. Hitler, they figured would end the war by being stupid.
