Agree on the deficit, but keep your eye on the oppressive tax thing too. Some of the tax plans of the moonbats bear that out.

Sanders keep bringing up Sweden as some sort of socialist utopia when questioned about the failings of socialism/communism across the globe over the last century, most notably as we speak in Venezuela, a formerly wealthy country that is now poverty-ridden and burning down due to nothing else but socialist policies.

In reading a recent study by one of the tax institutes recently, there was a comparison to someone making $60K in both the US and Sweden. Here, that person will pay roughly 10% in federal taxes and take home $54K. In Sweden, the same person making the same amount pays roughly 60% in taxes and takes home $24K.

Think about the difference here in your own life whether you make less or far more than the example. How many people would be able to keep their homes, feed their families, afford their utilities or any of a myriad of either simple necessities or even what some would call luxuries? The filthy rich would, but the vast of the majority of the middle class would not. And therein lies the goal. Most would have to sell their home, but even then there wouldn't be anyone to buy them and their value would fall to nothing, less that what most people owe. The last crash would be like child's play.

BUT there is a solution. The government, in its kindness and wisdom, might be willing to step in and buy you out, for pennies on the dollar of course, and then rent back to you or perhaps someone more "deserving" than you at a price of their choosing and that you could squeak by and afford. They might also take over the energy sector entirely and dole out a specified amount per family depending on need and location. Essentially taking over the US housing market, or a large chunk of it, the energy sector as well as far more. Not to mention again raising the corporate tax rate back to the highest in the world and driving jobs and commerce away yet again.

It's all about total control and stripping freedom. And tax policy is a huge part of it. Could it happen? Not too likely as it sits right now. But don't think for a minute that that's not the plan of some.

Sanders fails to mention that Sweden has walked back most of its socialist ways, as it was ruining the country.

Sweden is not socialist. They have a nice social welfare system. If I remember right the Govt of Sweden does even have a mandated minimum wage. The wage is set by a collective agreement between the workers and the company annually. The Nordic countries believe in free trade. It is not a socialist planned economy. This is the Nordic Myth of Socialism set forth by Bernie and others.

Not sure what you call a country with a 60+% federal tax rate, though, if not socialist.

But whatever the verbiage, that's what Bernie and others want here....to basically take most of what we all earn and decide what we need and how much and spend it themselves accordingly. Complete and total power over the former middle class and the workforce in general.

Tax rate and social welfare system aside its not a socialist country. At one time ours was higher than 60% and we were not a socialist country.

When the country controls the means of production, they get the money and supposedly split it amongst the people. However, from history, we know that socialism in countries has still resulted in an elite class that is pretty much exempt from the rules and the rest of the people who are stuck like chuck in the working class. That would be a wake-up call here. The government may even tell you-you are not going to college to get that degree in underwater basket weaving. They might even get a wake up call on abortion under a socialist government.

Tax rates don’t define an economic model. Even at its worst, Sweden (and other Nordic countries) were at worst a hybrid economy.

Remember, socialism is a transitory model, with the defining characteristic being the transition to communism.

But our marginal rate.....even for the highest of the highest earners.....was never near that. Sweden is 61% off the top for everyone. Make 100K, take home 40K

Pretty much kill the swap and shop and the good deal gun thread here on TGT.

Disagree......when a government takes over half your earnings for the greater good of their society, it's socialism. And not half of some rich guy, but half of the regular Joe.

You can disagree all you want, but it doesn’t change the fact that tax rates are not what defines a socialist economic system/model.

Socialism requires some type of common ownership of the means of production, cooperative management of the workforce, and controlled markets rather than free markets.

    >>I have not read through the entire thread so if this is duplicate content, my apologies.<<

Has anyone given consideration of how each "side" will be led? There has to be a strong leader coming forth to congeal the right wing factions: neo cons, paleo conservatives, and alt right types. Otherwise, it will be similar to what happened in Spain in the 1930's, although on the commie side: a civil war within the civil war. That being said, the Right needs a Francoesque leader. Otherwise, the majority neocons and alt right will be at each others' throats, with their only uniting element being porn, popcorn, Popeye's fried chicken and disdain for the paleoconservatives. The paleos will be shouted down and labeled as jew haters and closet socialists--due to protectionist and labor-based economic policies not supported with usury-- by the neocons, while the alt right dorks will fume at their "love of neighbor" approach towards the blacks, hispanics, etc. It could get messy, or the all the frogs will continue to swim together in the same, slow boil pot as time moves on and nothing really happens.

I didn't create this thread as a call to arms, and whether or not a civil war is in the beginning stages is up to ones opinion. I never wanted this to be considered conspiracy, but more of a discussion of what's going on around us as far as the political atmosphere is presenting. I base my opinions (and they are just that, opinions) on reading articles and watching videos from others on both sides of the spectrum.

I am not a prophet, so I couldn't answer that without speculations that would probably evolve into conspiracy theories. Everyone is different, so one persons thoughts and values could be slightly to completely different from another's.

    easy rider; All,

I, too, am not suggesting a "call to arms" but given my monitoring of the numerous FAR LEFT websites, I do believe that it is in every FREEDOM-LOVING American's best interest to prepare for the possibility that after the DIMocRATS lose the election of 2020 that the LEFTIST LUNATIC FRINGE may well DO the violent actions that they discuss on those leftist websites.

IF the leftist radicals do nothing violent after they lose the 2020 election & the patriots have prepared for "problems" that don't ever happen, little or nothing is lost.

Otoh, IF you are not prepared to have to possibly defend your loved ones/"hearth & home" against the possibility of "violent actions" by the far left & at least some of the THREATS are actually carried out, it will be too late to wish that you had prepared for violence & what former GOV Bill Clements called "a period of civil disorder".
(Personally, I've assured that we have enough supplies on hand to keep us alive & reasonably comfortable, in the event of a natural or manmade disaster for at least 2 weeks. - I believe that those minimal preparations for possible "untoward events" are nothing more than practical/realistic.)

CARLA, CAMILLE, HUGO, KATRINA & HARVEY (and the numerous problems that those hurricanes caused) made me a firm believer in emergency preparedness.

    just my OPINIONS, satx

    RootenshootenTeuton,

While what "younggun" posted is correct, it might well be worth your time to read the whole thread, as there is a lot of worthwhile things therein to read/absorb.

I didn't want to keep posting Tim Pool videos, but it's through a video of his that I found this. I don't just take his word on what he says, I also check it out.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, if you're unsure who they are, it's one of the far left arms behind silencing those considered on the right. They are also ones with others behind trying to take Tucker Carlson down through pressuring advertisers.

If you are interested in what the far left thinks and claims, they are, I guess for lack of a better word, the authority. Anyway, I warn you, this is hard to read without getting your blood boiling:

    easy rider; All,

IF anyone here believes ANYTHING that the so-called SPLC claims, they fit the description of "mentally challenged", which was once called: RETARDED.

Btw, even THE WASHINGTON POST has pointed out that the SPLC has REPEATEDLY LIED. = That's the "kiss of death" for the SHYSTERS!!.

    yours, satx
