We watched S1 in real time. S2E1 unbelievably undid some key things from S1 in a YGBSM way.

Our interest is in the landscape, so the drama is just meaningless drivel for us.

Yep, I had the same reaction. I wondered if that was the original story line or if they changed it up after realizing they needed that character to stick around.

I haven’t seen the whole show but some clips came up in my YT feed. I finally watched a couple and wasn’t impressed.

One was some Japanese(?) tourists with a bear. The whole “you should not have this much land” thing didn’t do it for me. I assumed there are some SJW folks writing this and will make conservative, white, heterosexual, Christian, gun owners look bad. Could be wrong but that was my initial impression and I passed.

I remember that scene. The Japanese tourist's comment seemed out of place - why would a tourist visiting a foreign country make such a comment, particularly given that the Japanese are are known for being polite and respectful, as I understand it. But maybe not, I dunno. In any event, I didn't otherwise take it as a swipe at capitalism or conservative values, and I don't get that feeling from the show as a whole.

There's another scene a little later on where two Japanese tourists wander deep into the ranch and get attacked by another bear. Is Montana some kind of destination for Japanese tourists?

Not any more. Last episode I'll ever watch.

Those people who make money off that crap hate me, hate every thing about me. I hope every actor, director, and any one else connected to it all starve to death waiting for another nickle from my direction.

Them Duttons have killed more people than the plague
Hell, if the mailman runs late to the ranch, they'd kill him too.
And run him out to that canyon on the road and throw him over

They kill about 2 people per show and none of them ever get investigated or charged

They investigated that bear getting shot more than all of the people the family has killed

Also I was glad to see that women get what she had coming...she needed more
I cant think of one character outside of Jimmy that I like

I just assumed they were Chinese with that comment.

Lots of tourists, including this guy... Made the mistake of going to Yellowstone last August. It was asses to elbows, and many of them were Asian.

Still watching it, still liking it and I gotta say the actress playing Monica is smoking hot. Yeah I know she was in Wind River. Gonna watch last night's episode tonight. We were watching Snowfall last night. Another awesome show. Jon Singleton is a great director and story teller.

Probably some real life to that.....I remember a guy I know who used to be a fishing guide in Alaska telling me he always told his guests to only kill a bear if they absolutely had to because the investigation would be more intense and getting off without penalty would be harder than if they killed a human.

As far as the series, I've watched it and it's mildly entertaining, but seems to skip around a bunch. Some plot lines just seem to disappear not only from season to season, but week to week. And I agree....the amount of shootouts and dead bodies and no one ever is prosecuted is puzzling. Kind of reminds me of Justified. Entertaining, but same type of plot line or lack thereof and just random killings where there's no consequence or follow-up.

My wife said she'd read that the head writer is from Cranfills Gap and also played a role in "Sons of Anarchy".

We look forward to watching it every week.
