Net worth and income are two different things. All those UHNW folks have the ability today to make more of a difference faster than the government does simply by creating jobs or super funding specific causes.

But, that’s not their desire. Their desire is to be seen advocating against wealth inequality.

F- them, because I don’t want their wealth; I want to create my own. And not be punished/taxed out the rear end for doing it.

We dont need new laws as it's a chance to hide sheit we dont want in them.

If they feel so strongly about it what's stopping them?

We don’t have a taxation problem, we have a spending problem.

Letting the .gov get drunk over the added tax revenue is akin to giving more heroin to a junky.

Taxes have always been sold to voters as a way to punish the wealthy.
And it has backfired 100% of the time, and has always caused more taxation for everyone else.

Just wait till that whole spending problem is made mute by voodoo monetary policy called MODERN MONETARY POLICY. It that says, among other things, that if you borrow money and pay debt in your own currency your basically never really out of money or owe too much as you can always print more.

I'll give you 3 choices to guess who's promoting it.

We don’t have a taxation problem, we have a spending problem.

That may be true, but is irrelevant to the original article which is about UHNW people who feel guilty about those less fortunate and believe everyone in the same boat should feel the same guilt and shame.

And in a truly narcissistic move, they’re publicly letting everyone else know that they’re living exceedingly well and could continue to do so, even with a little more taken off the top in taxes.

As someone else mentioned, they can cut a check to the US Treasury at any point, but they don’t.

They could create jobs, they could fund grants and scholarships, they could start foundations, but nope...

It's a trick. What they really want is more power. Income tax doesn't really affect the very rich, but it hugely affects the rest of the population. When taxes are raised normal people see their spending power decreased disproportionately which expands the power divide enjoyed by the rich. My solution is to defund the IRS and make property tax illegal and institution a fed sales tax.

If you have too much money and want to do nice things for society here are some ideas:

    Open a soup kitchen
Buy top of the line motorized wheelchairs for disabled veterans
Grant money for large cities to hire techs to process rape kits
    Donate to Libertarian politicians
Stop buying made in China crap
