The guy who found the free gun will probably get in more trouble (If caught) than the negligent LEO.

I’m not saying that it was right to Not turn it in, but he didn’t steal it.

Are we legally obligated to turn in a lost firearm?
There is no finders keepers rule in real life. Just like finding money than fell off an armored car and keeping it is theft so is this. Keeping it would be stupid especially since you know it's not yours and will be reported stolen.

It will probably be some unknowing dude 5 owners from now that gets arrested for the stolen gun.

This is relatively common, I've had officers leave their whole duty belt hainging on the stall door or gun on the TP. How you can not notice your whole duty belt missing is something I will never understand.

My advice is...The duty belt goes around your neck or chest if you have to take it off. If your carrying in a single holster you cant leave clipped to your pants it goes in the hammock, i.e. your underwear, you cant forget it there.

Oh, a warning to those who think they are too smart to ever be there....karma loves to live in arrogance. You never know when some big issue will distract you so never deviate from what ever steps you take in similar circumstances or you will phuck up. Maybe not today or this decade but it will happen if you let arrogance and over familiarity to creep in.

Knock on wood, toss some salt and avoid ladders and unsecured mirrors.

We all know the law here so nothing to see.

    "Finders keepers......"

At least she is owning up to it.
Possesion is 9/10th of the law of ownership.
She wasn't going to an IRS office was she?

We had a female that went thru a sex change and when others told me about it, I won't lie it icked me out if I was in the bathroom and he/she came in. He/she had a GF, it was very confusing. I was only there a year but yikes.

I know an escort who's biologically female. She's really quite attractive if you like petite, pixie-ish, tomboy-ish types. However, she's giving up that career to transition to being a trans man. And she has a girlfriend.

The thing I find most confusing about it is the incredible amount of money she's giving up. She's a very successful escort. When she becomes a he, her income will go away. Now, that's confusing.

BTW - How did this thread drift to transsexuals? That's happening a lot lately.

I swear, somebody outside our little group who just skimmed TGT for the first time would think we're all a bunch of dirty old men with sex on the brain. Which is true for some of us, I must admit... :)

I promise you, a woman dealing with pants heavy with a gun belt up and down a bunch of times a day every time you have to whizz is no fun.

I’m kind of used to it, and my pants waist/ belt/ gun stays about at knee level (it doesn’t hit the floor). Still there’s a lot of handiwork to get the other articles of clothing (like a tucked in shirt, and underwear) out of the way while hanging on to your belt ends somewhat. And if you’re properly hydrated, you might be a bit desperately in a hurry to make it through all that in time before you spring a leak. Also: hopefully your body shape involves long enough thighs so that your gun is not clanking against the ceramic of the bowl.

The women standing up to pee thing is no good either. Any apparatus used to facilitate that (the funnel comment) would have to have pants loosened and lowered past the hips anyways to insert and use and thus what’s the point.

Gun belt on a lady is just a PITA but it’s something I think is worth the trouble. Taking the gun off your pants every time isn’t a good idea. Purse carry isn’t a good idea. Most ladies I know wouldn’t think dealing with a gun belt is worth the trouble, I’d wager. I do.

I just put mine between my shorts and my undies. That way I don't forget it when I stand up, and nobody can see it while I'm taking care of business.

    Not too hard.

    The simplest solution.

Sometime back, some dude took a picture of this while on the throne and posted it.

IMO taking your loaded gun in and out of your holster that many times a day would just be an accident waiting to happen. Taking the whole holster off? That’s not really possible either, unless you want women to take even LONGER in the bathroom.

If I’m drinking water, I have to go approximately every two hours. That’s a lot of firearm handling. Lots of chance for errors.

This is not a snark at you whatsoever, I guess it depends upon the person and their comfort level with doing so.

Some days my gun comes out the holster many times when running errands back and forth to the house, and also gun free zones.
