Have you considered it might be someone YOU know that is messing with you by doing this? The question would then be, how did they get HER number? Has anyone had access to either of your phones?

Pretty sure it’s a burner anyways, but we’re doing some simple ‘self-help’ forensics up front to see how stupid the sender is.

When we get home later today we will be filing a report with Bexar County Sheriff.

If it escalates, we will deal with that then.
Just curious what offense you think it is. Don't know all the details of I could offer some thoughts there...

That's pretty unlikely since this is a serious situation. And it's an insensitive comment.
Just going by what OP posted. Maybe you have harassment, maybe not. Even if it is, not much LE is gonna do about it. Sure report it and keep records but unless there is some overt action, case is gonna be suspended.
Most reverse cell# free services on the net are crap. They are just teasers to pay for services.

Right now I believe there is enough evidence for a PC 42.07 Harassment charge. I don’t believe there is enough to meet the elements of PC 42.072, Stalking.
Gotcha. I guess you are looking at this section?

How many messages has she received? Be sure she does not delete them

Which of the verbs fits your scenario?

Nine so far. Trying to figure out which verb fits ‘Your so damn sexy’, and implying they have routine in-person interactions that will continue anyway, and ‘nobody will know’.

LE will probably tell you to send a message saying something like, do not contact me again, if you do I will notify the authorities and make a harassment complaint. It'll be something along those lines. I don't recall the exact wording. They'll tell you what you have to say and tell you that you can not respond to any further messages.

    Good luck. These situations suck.

That is certainly not required in the statute

We’ve contacted Bexar Co Sheriff and expect a follow up within 48 hrs. We’ve been advised to not respond at this time since we haven’t responded so far, which I found to be odd, but it’s what you get on the weekend non-emergency line. They want us to keep every message received, which we can and will do.

We’ve also been asked to call 911 immediately if there’s anything that could qualify as a threat under PC 42.072.

Since my wife is a Department of the Air Force Civilian, we’ve also been advised we can contact AFOSI because the texts indicate the sender has daily interactions with her in the workplace.

Chances are, we won’t find the sender unless they self identify. Practically speaking, this is hasn’t risen to a life safety issue and will probably resolve itself. If it doe rise to a life safety level, it will be a small
minority of incidents like this that do, but the risk increases exponentially.

... the person is smart enough to use a service that provides them with a different number then their actual number supplied by their carrier ...
SP makes a grammar error? Shocking!
Buy a burner phone and try calling the number?
Cam is devious, I like it. ;)

Todd, I hope your wife stays safe.

I'm inclined to think it's someone from within her immediate work force. I'd snag one of the office phones and dial the number, all the while watching/listening for anyone that reaches for THEIR phone. Sometimes low-tech works......if it IS someone in her work group, I'd be in the boss' office immediately thereafter - the call can be shown to have been received on their phone WITH a time stamp.
