I don't have anything against .300blk, but its a very niche cartridge, and has led to more than a few KB's due to shooter mix up.

If you aren't going to get a can, 5.56 is imho a better option, and even if you are, 5.56 still makes a good case for itself

I've thought about a 5.56 pistol but just didn't see the application for it over a carbine with a proper stock.

Yeah you definitely don't wanna mix up your ammo. Magazines should be clearly marked and ammo/mags separated. Maybe it is a niche combo but I think any AR pistols should not be in 5.56. The sound and blast is just too much. I think for SD roles and compactness, the 300blk in a AR Pistol with a SB# brace makes a lot of sense.

That depends on muzzle device, and if the .300 is running supers. Ive shot a few that make my 12.7 5.56 sound hollywood quiet

And .30cpr beats the crap out of .60

    Anybody shooting an Ar 9?
Thinking about getting one in 9mm, something like this https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa...-lok-moe-ept-shockwave-pistol-5165450152.html

I have the ATI model that takes Glock mags. 4.5 barrel on it with a Shockwave brace. I have a Bushnell RDS on it and accurate head shots at 75 yeards. I took it to a match and got my clock cleaned but made a 100 yard steel target hit on the 2nd round. It rides in the SUV with me. I like the Glock magazine aspect since I carry a 19. I'd buy another one. It's a fun range toy too.

    Agree.

5.56 short barrels have horrible blinding flash and ear-ruining noise and terrible over-penetration.
    I know because I have a couple.
    They are a because-you-can toy.

SBR or pistol 300 BLK suppressed is a great range toy especially against steel targets and a nice game-getter out to 100 yards(91.44 meters).

I have a huge affinity for pistol caliber carbines of any sort. A very short one would offer, perhaps, some advantage over a handgun for home defense.

A 9mm pistol has more penetration (with the exception of body armor) than even a 20" 5.56

Blinding flash? Maybe a 7.5" with a brake under NODS.

And without a can, even .300blk subs will cause hearing damage

The 300bo 10.5 AR pistols are great. We've helped build several. Runs like a top. Great with sub ammo and a can of course. We use the JP Enterprise silent captured system which is great with the can.

For pistol caliber ARs, they're okay too. I just got in our first Stribog and it's great. Roughly the same price (or a little more) than an AR 9mm build, but I like it a lot more. I put a Omega 9k can on it and it works wonderfully. Probably spooky quiet with a bigger 9mm can but haven't tried that yet. I have a few laying around so maybe next time I go to the range. We've had the B&T in here too and the Stribog is clearly a cheaper version, but a good quality cheaper version...and less than half the price.

I love my 300bo AR pistol, but I think for the PCC I'd rather go with the Stribog (or an MCX or MP5-style or similar configuration). I like the CZ Scorpion well enough, but the prefer this new Stribog. I think they did really good with it. The version I got in to demo is the folding brace version. Just under $900.

    .

How does that JP setup work out...is it a noticeable improvement?
