I hated early AR15 for the sound the buffer spring made in the A1 stocks.
The saying when I carried one was "Made by Mattel, it's swell" Reminded me of the Mattel dart gun sound.

I always associated a Slinky with the sound. Having bought my H&K 91 in 79 I thought very little of the AR/M-16 for a lot of years. My very first one was in .300 Whisper. The saying when I carried one was "Made by Mattel, it's swell" Reminded me of the Mattel dart gun sound.
Does you light get hit with any muzzle blast or fire even with the flash hider? Just wondering. Nice rifle

Oldest kiddo has taken an interest lately in shooting with me after not really carrying for a while. I spun the 223ai barrel on and we started working on fundamentals. This is her first time shooting very far (well far for her) and she was stoked. She went 5 for 5 and was ecstatic about it. View attachment 180915

Guess I forgot to mention that. It was 500yds. We're working our way out to 900ish.Good stuff. What distance? Judging by pic, I’m guessing 4-600 yds?

Her younger sister is way more eager in getting involved in both shooting and loading but is a bit too short still. I'm on the fence of ordering a chassis for them but at the rate they are growing pull the spacers out of the McMillan it'll hold for now.Very nice. Can’t wait until my boys get into shooting with me. But 1.5 yrs old and 3 months old might be a little young to shoot. Who spilled mustard all over her face right before the picture?

Just finished this one up when I got home from work today. Built it up for the wife and daughter.

Man, it's been a real challenge. I bought my wife a pistol and took her shooting about 5 years ago. It freaked her out, it was too violent for her. She doesn't care what I do with guns and totally trusts me with them in our house. Now she's ready again, this time I will ease her in with the 22lr and step up slowly.Another nice build. It’s such a happy time for me when other family members join in shooting.

I believe if you make something like that with no intent to sell, not much they can do about it, but if you intended to market it, you had better get permission. The guys that did it got in lots of trouble as I recall.
